This video provides information for health workers on the use of wheel filters and a demonstration on how to use a wheel filter. Wheel filters are a piece of harm reduction equipment to recommend to clients who are injecting drug users. Wheel filters, sometimes referred to as ‘pill filters’, are intended to filter out impurities and bacteria from licit and illicit substances in order to prevent damage to veins and vital organs. Most Queensland Needle and Syringe Programs (NSP) stock wheel filters and we recommend you get in touch with your nearest NSP or us here at Dovetail for further information.
