Better noise reduction would be nice

But you can have it all for free with Darktable regarding raw processing. Photoshop can be replaced with Affinity Photo 2, which in the most important areas matches Photoshop and is very affordable - one time pay. I have dropped Adobe to avoid their annoying pipeline into my economy, and I don't miss anything. I work 90 % in Darktable, which in some aspects surpasses ACR and Lightroom, e.g. regarding noise reduction and sharpening. However, right now (Feb 2023) there's only one nearly perfect noise reduction tool on the market, which has to be purchased for nearly twice the cost of AP2 - I am talking about DxO's PureRAW 2 (also a one time pay). I use it up front as a stand alone module. The noise reduction is perfect on raw files - the output file is a dng file which responds to Darktable like the native raw file. Also the lens correction and the lens sharpening is very, very good. In most cases I let PureRAW 2 do the automated noise reduction and lens correction (distortion and color aberration) - and leaves the sharpening for Darktable. In cases where I choose to also sharpen up front in PureRAW 2 - and the effect shows up to be too much or not enough - the effect can be decreased or increased in Darktable.

DXO Photolab has a better RAW processor than Lightroom; quality noise reduction...

LR is still a huge mess UI-wise. It needs a major rethink.

Would be great to have a tool that saves LR masks to Photoshop. The only workaround that I could think of is to convert a copy of the image to Black & White, go to ACR, select a feature and color it in let's say red. Go back to PS, select that color and generate your mask from it.

Not directly. But photoshop has its own ai tools. And as Heiko said in the comment

You can mask multiple people, but you can only automatically apply the preset to a single person per image

Sometimes they are initially and some times they aren't. You can use the brush to refine them as well as the range mask tools which work quite well.
