They didn’t take it away. The AirPods 2 still sell and have that. These are a different version of AirPods that your presses.

I have a question. when you leave one airpod in the case and only use one at a time, does the sound automaticalluy become mono or does it stay stereo? it would be dumb if it stayed stereo

As far as I know when you switch to one AirPod it switches to Mono.

very helpful video but I've been running into issues. I used to have airpods pro and was very used to "hey siri" for sending any texts or calls while I was working/hands free. My airpods gen 3 are not responding to any hey siri's or even reading any texts even though I have everything selected to do so. Any ideas?

Use the iPhone volume rockers or ask Siri to raise the volume. Also use noise canceling option when in loud settings

So there is no way to choose what a double tap does on each airpod now? Seems to be left out of the video and the official Apple site is showing a screen that is not on my 13 or yours it appears. Thanks for the video!

So it seems like it just isn’t there for the 3rd generation AirPods. I noticed it too but there isn’t anything being left out to justify options. You can do everything these can do with the existing controls. The AirPods pro made sense to have the option as the long hold on the stem would initiate noise canceling so having the option to have one activate Siri or not was a benefit. Doesn’t need to be there with these ones I guess.

Try removing both from the case then putting them back in. Charge them for a bit and try. If it still doesn’t work, restart the iPhone and reset the AirPods. Then, try connecting them again.

My gen 3 AirPods announce my messages at such a low volume I can’t hear what the message says even when my phone and music volume is all the way up. How do I fix this and make it announce messages louder?

Restart the iPhone and reset the airpods. Mine did that too. Volume usually fixes it but you have to legit raise the volume as the message is being said for it to get and stay louder.

You should be able to use the volume rockers to raise the volume. If it’s not working, reset the AirPods, restart the iPhone and connect them again. If that fails, contact Apple as it could be defective

How did you get the widget on your home screen to look like that? The phone percentage, airpod percentage and the case percentage? Is this only for iPhone 13? I have the 11.

No you just add the widgets, check my channel for the beginners guide to the iPhone 13. I show how you add it in that video. It works for the iPhone 11 too. You just need to have the AirPods connected to see their percentage.

Only shows when the airpods are connected if they are in the case or disconnected then they wont show

They aren’t gone they are just on the AirPods 2, the Pros and 3 use pinches.

My iPhone 11 does not show up hold and press option for AirPods gen3. No Siri option. It is not recognising double touch single touch etc. Pl help.

It uses pinches not touches. Make sure you enable the options you want first in the Bluetooth settings while they are connected in your ears. If it still won’t show, update your iOS version to the latest software

You need music to be playing or some content that has something before or after skip. Also keep in mind some apps don’t work with it.

What would be worth buying now, these, the 2nd generation ones or pros?

AirPods Pro would be my recommendation as they seem to only be like $10.00 more then the 3rd Gen AirPods on Amazon. Also the pros have been updated with a MagSafe case too and you get noise cancellation. Next I’d say 3rd Gen and finally I’d say 2nd Gen. with all this being said, if you don’t like the silicone strip feel then the 3rd and 2nd generation would be better.
