I appreciate the calm, direct, and thorough explanation (answering things others might not, like whether or not it's meant to go through clothes, which I didn't know). Unrelated but I like her hair. Very scene, absolutely awesome.
Wow. Excellent and informative. Clearly and thoroughly explains what to do and why doing so is important. This will really save some lives if it hasn't already saved some lives. Thanks for posting! :)
What this and similar videos do not tell you AND they really should is that after the EpiPen is administered, you need to take an anti-histamine to fight the allergy. The pen only relieves the problem for about 20 minutes until the epinephrine wears off. The anti-histamine will neutralize the allergen in your body. Without an anti-histamine, the allergy will reoccur. I package Benedryl and my pens in a ziplock. One without the other will not do the job.
My understanding is that it is critical to have an ambulance after using the EpiPen. Yes I have antihistamine and prednisone to try and stop a second reaction. But if you're in hospital they will look after the medication.
This is a good instructional video for me. At age 59, I have found myself, suddenly, subjected to an allergic reaction to what I do not know. So I am instructed to carry a vile of medications containing prednisone and Benadryl. With that two Epi-pens. No explanation or training. Thanks for the intel.
I repeat to myself orange to the thigh , blue to the sky. I go through that every time I look after my little grandson as he has one for peanut allergy.
By the way, do not put your thumb on it. When she says "inject through your thumb" she means *through* the thumb. This thing will easily punch through leather motorcycle gear. A thumb is literally nothing for these.
I’m very thankful that I don’t have any life threatening allergies, only a slight reaction to certain grass pollens in the air, because even if it saves your life, I’d be very scared to do it as I have moderate trypanophobia
Hmm, light, heat/cold sensitive. ?! I work outside, and it's for hornets that I got this. And the med will be carried with me daily, outside in the heat, I do landscaping.
Ok so don’t throw it away if it’s all u got. I think they cost to much to just throw away I’m scared to do it on my baby 😭😭😭😭 I pray I won’t have to. I also don’t wanna do it through clothes. I pray I won’t have too.
It’s not that hard to and it’s practically painless, it would be hard to do psychologically, but physically just jab it in and leave it, not being able to would be your worst enemy, and maybe even the last enemy of your son depending on the complications.
