thank you, this is the best tutorial by far that I've tried after a very frustrating morning with others. Most of the others are outdated by 3.3.3! I do wish you had a "table of contents" list of locations as this video is long and dense with information, and I'm going back for one topic at a time...
@@MasterEditor5 .. remember you'd asked if there are any requests to vids: have you considered doing a video for Ardour? It certainly looks more professional but I've only dabbled with it a little …
Thanks a lot , after going thru so many of tutorials vidieos on Audacity , I found this the best where we can get the full details for the beginners to operate the Audacity 3.3.3.. Really its full of knowledge. Thank you for illustrating the things very carefully.
I'm working with ACX, and have specific requirements for my audiobook submission. I have listened to this hour of instruction for 'beginners' and it's not basic enough for me.
Okay, thanks for the feedback. I will try to make videos more basic in future. BTW, which mic do you use for audiobook production? And how long you have been into this?
My mic is listed as USB2.0...........I'm just getting started with audio production for ACX. I got set up with them a year ago, and then we had health events that meant I needed to pause this work..........the versions have changed from 3.2 then to now 3.3.3 for my window. In 2022, I downloaded ACX check plug-in...........do you know if they are still using that, and if so, is the 2022 version current? @@MasterEditor5
Thank you so so much for this! I want to start recording my original songs, and this was suggested to me! Thank you for being so specific and helpful! ✌️✨
This is really super helpful. I watched it a couple of times and I think I've absorbed some things. Now, I need to find your de-click plug in tutorial. Thank you!!
Thanks for this, it's great but I want to record from my old cassette audio to mp3 using audacity and not the cassette usb converter using the latest audacity version but I can't seem to get the connection to audacity right. Any ideas pls?.
Thanks for this detailed video. Please create video specifically for podcast. Beginners to advance that can be helpful for freelance wannabe. Thank you
@@MasterEditor5 Thanks, yes, I had found history but I was hoping that if one would want to go on next day wone would be able to still see what one had been doing. Many thanks for all the information you have given us.
When we choose to export as WAV file, there are many types of encoding and I don't understand any of them at all. hahaha But it's alright to just choose the default "signed 16-bit PCM right?
I have just used the Non-destructive editing in order to edit a bit of my vocals. I didn't like the start, so I had silenced it and recorded that bit again, which appeared on the next track. Then I wanted to move it up (I know next to nothing about recording!) but it wouldn't go. So I found out that I had to split the whole of the beginning, delete it, then make the start clip which was on the next track and make it smaller, then bring it up and expand it to attach it to the next verse. I would very much appreciate if you would make a tutorial for singers but maybe that is not your thing? In which case I hope that I will find one.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, Singing falls beyond my area of expertise :-) . If I understood correctly, you are looking something for multi track editing, where you can record something and move things around at will?
@@MasterEditor5 Many thanks for your reply, I really appreciate....... I am still finishing going through your tutorial but yes, I hope that I can find one for singers, mainly one backing track and then the voice, one or more, as it is very specialized but I have learnt a lot with your tutorial too, as I knew nothing at all. And the people from Audacity have helped me by answering my questions too. Not really move things around at will but more to to show off my voice at its best and really make the song shine. What appears in the recording is usually not really the best one has to give.
@@MasterEditor5 Yes, you are right. I am a singer and use backing tracks. As one recording is never perfect, one needs then to at times take bits from another take and glue them together, but I also meant as far as the mixing, and so on. Still all the information you gave me helped hugely, thanks!
Quero por minha voz em 1 play bak mas n consigo pq abro outra faixa mas ai o rec n funciona, o mesmo so funciona quando ta na mesma faixa começa gravando depois do pkaybak
i am trying to merge 2 songs together for a memorial service and I have recorded it and exported but when I open it on itunes it does not play what am i doing wrong
can anyone give me the timestamp that may pertain to rearranging clips? New clips always seem to add onto the end, but I would like to move a new clip to the beginning. I cannot drag the clip past other clips, as they collide.
I am using Audacity to record my songs. My problem is I want to record guitar on track 1 then record vocals on a new track or track 2. That's easy enough but what I am trying to do is record my vocals on track 2 while listening to playback of guitar on track 1 but I don't want track 1 to also re-record on track 2.I only want my vocals to record on track 2 Now I have researched this and where ever I go it tells me the same thing. They say I have to use what is called overdubing. Ok I found overdubing and turned it on but when I try to record my vocals on track 2 it is still re-recording track 1 is there a way to separate the track 1 from track 2 ??? Please help...
Hi i have a problem with recording audio in Audacity on my macbook air early 2015 intel. I would like to record my music set from recordbox with my dj deck Pioneer XDJ RX2 as MIDI using. I have bought a Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen but when i have instal the setting for recording on focusrite 2i2 USB in audacity, it doesn't record anything and sometimes i see a error code from audacity. Can someone please help me fix this problem? Sorry for my bad english(: Greetings from Rotterdam - Holland
@@MasterEditor5 first i connect the focusrite device and then open audacity, then i check my record settings but there’s no audio input with the record test in audacity?
one minute I'm finding a recording I've been looking for all week and stoked. Then I realize it has multiple most favorite recordings. Then i see i can update to 3.3.3 on my other computer so i update it on this one. Then i go to close my tracks and won't save this time and closes; and now everyh version I have is opened and now each say Audacity can't read disk from disk D: or disk has no space or may not have permission or may be corrupted or can't work with blockfiles.!!!! wth do i do now!!!??????
I’m just gonna ask possibly the dumbest, stupidest, lamest question ever asked about this: is this version of Audacity compatible with Vista? That’s what I currently use on an old, cruddy but still operating Gateway laptop running Windows Vista.
I am not sure. You can try and if not works then uninstall it and install an older version that works. Be sure to save your projects before doing that.
sure, whatever it's called. It's annoying they changed things because now the teaching videos for this user interface are few, and many of the old ones can be confusing if ya can't follow along because things are different. @@MasterEditor5
What's the point really? Then every old teaching video is kind of useless. I'm going to guess they change everything to give their workers something to do.@@MasterEditor5
