Your video could not have been found at a better time for me.I am in my 60's and have decided that this is going to be my year to start to take care of ME. My nails have always been a hot mess but I have managed to grow them out a bit and I am in the process of learning how to do gel nails myself. This builder gel is EXACTLY what I needed to see and how to apply it for good results. Thanks so much for your advice and step by step tutorial. You have made an older woman very happy.

You shouldn’t file away the tacky inhibition layer. It should be wiped off with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free wipe. Filing causes a gummy layer on your files and nails.

I'm new to this.. Can you just leave the builder gel tacky and apply your gel polish on top or do you have to wipe them off before adding next layer?

no you dont, the only time you wipe is when you finished with the last Layer aka Top Coat the Inhibition layer is for better adhesion of the color or builder layer. @@lwkydez4330

yes you can, the Inhibition Layer is needed when you put on another coat of color or the Builder after the base. Only wipe the tacky layer after you have done your last Coat ( Top Coat) @@Christins29

Once you apply the builder gel, hold your hand upside down for 30 seconds for it to self level to build an apex and make sure to apply thin layers and if there is too much of a heat spike use the low heat mode on your lamp and cure for a longer time.

Thank you soo much for this video! I just ordered the same sets of Aimeili gel products for this exact purpose! I used to grow my nails out and pay a lot of attention to them but I gave up trying bc they kept breaking and now that my nails have decided to grow and not break I'm ready to try again but with reinforcements this time! Anyway this video is very helpful. Now I know how I should go about applying the builder, and seeing shade 065 in action like that I can already tell it'll be my favorite of the four pinks.

i need to try this kit! the color you used is amazing. I used to have the nicest natural nails but I neglected them by going to salons who just didn’t care about the integrity of my natural nails :( I started religiously getting acrylics or gel extensions but the upkeep is exhausting and expensive. my nails still grow so fast but the tips are weak and are bound to break without some assistance. This will be perfect to keep my nails strong so I can grow them out, while also keeping them pretty and shiny 🤩 this will def be a worthwhile investment, while also bringing me some nostalgia to when i was younger and loved doing my nails!

Any tips? I just got my builder gel to use on my natural nails along with gel color. Do I just do the usual gel mani and add in the builder gel after applying the base coat? Then after builder gel apply gel color as usual?

@@debknott3268 Hi, I don’t think you need to use another base coat, since the builder gel is a base. So, I think you can do the sequence of builder base, color, and top coat. I just received a peelable base coat this week. So, I’ll try it under the builder base and see how that goes, as I would like the strength of the builder gel but with an easier removal after a week of wear.

Found this builder gel about a year ago and it’s all I use. I put it over tips and it’s amazing. I’m a server and am hard on my hands and this stuff stays until I take it off. I do a fresh mani and fill it in usually two-three times before I take it all off and do a fresh one. Their bonder is awesome, too. All of their products work great for me. The price can’t be beat.

@@sofiaa.8217 hello! I have tried it with and without a pH prep dehydrator and I don't see much of a difference so most of the time I apply it directly to my natural nail. I do not use tips. I do have lots of tutorials using builder gel in different ways, with gel polish, with dip powder, with decals... So lots of good videos on my channel if you want to take a look! ☺

Thank you for the video. I decided to start using dip powders and then also polygel. Long story short I damaged my nails removing all that jazz. I justordered the aimeili builder gel in the bottle set to cover my nails so they can recover.

I have that issue with my nails but it's with everything I use. This did start lifting on me after about 5 days but dip does the same on me at day 4.

Im a nail specoalist of 28 uears and in order for gells or dios to adhere, you must rough up nail surface, then use a ph dehydrator and a primer in that order.

My last mani lasted two weeks!! That’s never happens I usually make it about 10 days. I did lightly buff and I use a dehydrator and nail primer and used gel base coat then the builder gel. Just did my nails again and totally forgot the base coat step before builder gel 🤦🏽‍♀️

I rubbed my nails with alcohol after the Uc light and the gel last for 2 weeks in my nail. I also put gel color on top of the builder gel for color.

I just ordered the set to try to reinforce my nails to make them a bit stronger. I just have a question about growth one or two weeks later. Do you remove the whole thing or just fill the gap at the cuticle? How do you do it?

I've done both. Since it's a jelly consistency you can easily just fill in the gap at your cuticle and then smooth it out over the rest of your nail. Thanks for supporting my channel.

Yea definitely not necessary unless you need to smooth the surface. I usually just use alcohol to remove the sticky layer if I'm not going in with gel right away.

I put the builder gel right on top of my natural nail. If you're going to buff the sticky side off the builder gel then you might want to put gel base down before you go in with gel polish. Otherwise you can apply gel polish right on top of the sticky builder gel as it is also a gel base. I hope that answers your question. ♥

I started using a builder gel, but not a builder base. Not sure if there's a difference. I started using dip powder earlier this year. I do my nails once a month and take everything off. There was one time I had green stuff on a couple of my nails when I used a new dip system + had lifting for a week before I did anything about it. I never had a problem with the old dip system tho. Anyway, it's a long process, but it lasts me at the very least 3 weeks before I start seeing any lifting. Now I recently tried the base-top coat by beauty secrets and I literally noticed lifting after 4 weeks on just 1 nail. Just recently I've had it for 5 weeks with no lifting. I was shook lol But the other day, I tried the builder gel for the first time. So I cleaned my nails, buffed them out, wiped with acetone, then the builder gel, wiped with acetone, white dip powder, activator, buff to shape, then pearl-like gel, then gel top coat. It's my first time using a builder gel b/c before I only did the dip powder method. I have never heard of builder gel before lol Anyways, I have high hopes that the builder gel will make my natural nails stronger!

@@AmberRileysLife That makes sense. Funny thing is, Aimeili is the first gel top coat I ever bought. I haven't bought any other brands since it's working great for me. I would have bought the same brand, but I didn't know builder base and builder gel are the same thing lol Anyway, I got the Beetles brand. I'll let you know when I start to see lifting. It's only the second day for me lol By the way, try the RARJSM Pearl Gel Nail Polish. It's so pretty!!

Do you have any tips for easily removing the builder base? I'm going to try using it underneath my Dashing Diva strips, but I'm wondering if there is a good way to remove the builder base without having to soak and damage my nails.

For me, it just lifts up and peels off. I know it's not the best way but instead of soaking off, I peel mine off. You can also use a stripe of peel base down the center before starting and that will make it easy to remove.

Hi and welcome! You can remove the tacky layer but it's not necessary. It will bond with the next layer just fine. However let's say that you put down a layer of builder get and next you want to lay down a design and need a smooth layer. You can remove the tacky layer with some rubbing alcohol first.

So you need a gel base anyway for the gel polish to stick to. The builder gel acts as a base and also adds thickness to your nail. It can also be built out to make extensions. There are no stupid questions! Thanks for watching ♥

Since its tihck, does it cause a burning sensation when you cure it. Thats a problem that I have run into in the past with other products. I be so scared sometimes for fear of the bruning sensation. By the way, your nails are super amazing.

You can wear them either way. I find if you just wipe the tacky layer and wear the builder gel alone it's a bit more matte than if you apply top coat.

I have had all types of nail applications bit not the glaze nails. Tried all kinds of protective polishes. None are strong enough to protect them. Very active outside so nails take a beating?

Honestly I would go with an acrylic overlay of you want the max strength. Dip powder is also a good option. Builder gel is quick and easy and will add strength. However, I find it still a bit flexible since it is a gel product.

Nope, no problems at all. The builder gel is a gel base as well so it works in place of a gel base.

I can do two coats of the builder gel cure it and then follow up with two coats of the top coat cured without any filing?

Yes absolutely! Just keep your layers thin and you should have a good result. You can always file your edges afterwards to clean up your shape.

Im just about ready to pull the trigger and buy but I need to know. My natural nails are very sharp which is why I started getting my nails done. CANNOT for the life of me find a nail tech who gets it right every time. Will this dull the free edge of my nails so I don't claw myself to shreds 😂

Yes! My nails are very thin and sharp too and this adds the strength and structure to my nails just like dip and gel to dull that edge. Since I do my nails regularly I did not have to buff my nails before I put it on so you can either buff them before application or I was told Aimelie also makes a bond you can apply first to make it adhere better. I find that I get about 5 days before I get lifting which is about when I want a change anyway. I hope I answered all of your questions. Trust me, buy it! I just filmed a video for my best Amazon purchases of 2020 and this set made the list! ♥

The wattage might not be strong enough. You may need a higher wattage nail lamp.

Is it staying a liquid and not hardening? When it cures it leaves a sticky layer on top which confused me the first time I used it. Try taking off the tacky layer with some rubbing alcohol and see if it's cured. Otherwise I agree with Juanita. Your lamp may not be strong enough. Maybe try an additional cycle or two under your lamp.

I filed after curing. They will still be sticky, but it files off easily revealing a harder surface similar to clear dip powder.

You don’t file the sticky layer off, that’s a byproduct of the curing process, you just need ipa/rubbing alcohol to wipe it off with a lint free pad

I learned pretty quickly that it's easier to wipe away the tacky layer with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol (regular rubbing alcohol) and then file. After some time I got good enough to where I could do the whole mani and then just file the edges afterwards (see my newer videos). Thanks for watching ♥

I’m a bit confused. The builder gel and base coat are two different things. The pack of two that you bought contains the base coat and top coat, not the builder gel according to Amazon.

It's called builder base. I think it's supposed to be a combination base /builder gel but that's purely speculation.

It is the same... File down the top layer and then soak in acetone. However, I just peel mine off. Probably not the best option but I don't feel like it damages my nails any more than soaking in acetone does.

You don't need to, but you can. You actually don't even need to buff this stuff! If you check out my newer videos you will see that I go right in with my gel color over top the builder gel. Or you can wipe with alcohol if using dip powder or nail strips. I have videos using all three methods!

Probably... But I haven't tried it. It's so thick because it's meant to be a builder product and add that extra thickness to the nail. I would say if you want something thinner maybe stick with a regular gel base? If you do try thinning it I would be interested to know how it worked out for you!

@@AmberRileysLife I did use a form and started with a thin layer to use as a base, cured and slowly removed the form. You can build the thickness from there and I love the fact that I self levels. I’m pretty new to the whole doing my own nails but I love this stuff. I’ve been telling all the girls at work that do their own gel about this product. I also love that when you build up your nails and put the color over, when it’s time for a color change you just take off the top color down to the builder and add the new color on top.

You can but it's has a different texture and longevity. So it depends on what type of a base you want to create. Ploygel might be another good option.

No. It goes on so smooth. You can wipe off the sticky layer and go in with dip or leave the sticky layer and go in with gel. I have tutorials of both on my channel.

PLEASE READ. I highly don't recommend anyone use it! It contains formaldehyde which can cause an allergic reaction (sometimes a FUCKING BAD ONE) or your nail will literally seperate after months of usage. Read the reviews on Amazon please! It might be cheap but it's dangerous as hell and I wish I listened. I used this product 4 times, yes it works, yes it's strong as hell, yes it's seemingly perfect! After my 5th time using it, it gave me a reaction so bad I had to take my nails off, pus was forming in bubbles literally underneath the skin at the top of cuticles. It hardened my skin around my cuticles on all fingers while being inflamed, a few days later my skin started peeling tf off. It was so bad. Please KNOW THE RISKS! AND USE THIS PRODUCT WITH CAUTION.

For anyone who is buying a lamp: MAKE SURE THE NANOMETERS OF THE LAMP MATCH THOSE OF THE GEL!!! OTHERWISE THE GEL DOES NOT CURE FULLY AND YOU ARE AT A GREAT RISK OF A REACTION! you cannot see if gel is cured as it hardens only at partial cure.
