I cannot thank you enough for these 2 videos. Iv been loosely playing around with Cakewalk the last couple of months. In that time Iv watched so many of these types of videos and usually i end up more confused rather than learning but this. not only taught me a lot of useful things but, gave me a fresh breeze of inspiration. I even just bought a MIDI keyboard because every tutorial seems to just assume you have one and know how to use it but after learning so much without it, it was very hard to apply the skills I already learned with a MIDI and that frustrated me but this video gave me a little motivation. Hopefully I can thank you by making a good beat and emailing it to you. Thank you!

Only started messing with music production like 2 days ago, so these tutorial videos are insanely useful, thank you! I learned so much. I tried to see if you made a video on it already but I didn't find one, so it'd be great if you'd make one on good places to get free sample packs! :)

This was beyond expectations...you've got my like, sub, and undying appreciation! Super easy to follow along with and I created something really cool and completely different, unsafe, experimental, etc...not based on the exact methods shown here but still using every method that was explained. The only issue I had and still can't figure out was how to reduce the draw duration to 1/64? Seems like CW will only allow 1/32 max now? I was able to overcome this by either drawing 1/32 and cutting in half and or just by drawing a note exactly 64 ticks in length, selecting and then using the draw tool with last touched to create my actual sequence. Super helpful, you are a legend and kind of remind me of watching a young Prof getting into music lol

honestly would've helped to have the project files so I could jump in and mess with some of the things you already set. at some point I may follow the video and try to get close.. i'm mostly trying to make beats under "normal" music.

How do you balance your mix in cakewalk? Right speaker is really low.

Is there something wrong with your right speaker ? Is your audio panned? The panning knob is right above the volume fader

Bongonzo right speakers work, seems to be something with the output. Sounds fine on pc but in car right speaker low.

You might have to delete all the cakewalk files and redownload the downloads, I had to do it acouple times no clue why but yea give it a shot

How come when I use xpand and find a instrument I like, and then make another track and boot up xpand and lets say put a drum on that instance of xpand, it will play the first instrument of the first instance of xpand and the new one at the same time? I'm stuck trying to figure that out. I am using Cakewalk by Bandlab, maybe you can make a short video? I saw others trying to figure this same thing out it has something to do with the routing. Input monitoring is fine btw

What I do is I have one xpand for a drum and another seperate track for another sound. I DO NOT route those sounds seperately from one track of xpand. (I don't know that is possible). Those seperate sounds in xpand are only for layering.

Reverb extends the sound longer by makeing it have ambient delays to make it sound like it was in a room

My beat sound differs after exporting ..but it sounded perfect inside cakewalk..i feel like audio quality was bad after exporting and i tried even with a single sample after exporting that sample it sounds bad the low frequencies were disturbing....im stuck ...can u help me out?

Export as a wave 44.1 k sample rate and 32 bit. I wouldn't be surprised by your description of your bit depth is low

I hate using the piano roll is cakewalk band lab, that the reason why ama only make beats will FL studio.my first daw was sonar 6,years ago, then it go broken then I got sonar 8 then 8.5, couldn't use it to make beats because didn't had the knowledge. I do wanted to use bandlab but the piano roll edit is bs.i will only record my vocals with it on my beats.

Wow I really like the piano roll. I have only garageband to compare it to but I think it is good
