Googled: Do I own copyright in designs I create on Canva? Generally speaking, if you're the creator of an original design, you're also its copyright holder. But if you use third-party content (e.g. stock Content from the Canva library) in your design, your ownership is subject to those third-party rights.
Hi Suzanne, thank you!! This is very helpful. It’s such a grey area. I’m going to have to work out how to pin a comment at the top, as I’m sure a lot of folk will find this helpful…I certainly do!! I started making my own stencils due to copyright as it’s very strict, but also fairly vague.

Hi Trudi, thank you!!! I have tried using photoshop type software and struggled with the difficulty of it. I found Canva much easier to navigate, although I’m sure it will have less than photoshop. I think you can do a fair bit in the free version, and maybe use that to see if you like how it navigates. I’m sure you can do a 30 day pro trial for free, but need to enter payment details. I have used Canva pro for many years and am a big fan. I’m sure there are a lot more features than I use too. I also think the pro version gives more of a licence to use the images (if you hold click on the image it tells you this info, I’m sure any I’ve seen on pro you can just use).
Hi there! This is an excellent tutorial for someone like me that is just starting out. Is there a way to change the transparency within an image without changing it on the whole image? For example, the woman in the top photo. Is there a way to make just her background more transparent but not the woman? I’ve been looking all over for a video like that but only photoshop ones come up.
Hi Laura, I don’t think so, unless you used 2 different graphics/images etc from Canva on the same page. However if the image/graphic you are using has the woman and background as 1, my guess is you cannot. However if you used a woman, then chose a different graphic as the background, then you can adjust transparency separately. Does this make sense? You can also remove backgrounds from images. So that may help too. Good luck, I love Canva as photoshop is very technical. And thank you.
