Due to COVID-19 the prices on these recommended eyepieces have gone up because on manufacturing shut downs.

I have this telescope but I can't use 3x barlow lens. When i use it the object is blurry. I can't focus it

Good Ep wit this scope do actually make a massive difference to the sharpness and contrast. It’s a great Refractor for casual grab and go. I use mine with Baader Hyperion and it’s day and nigh the image.

Upgrading to plossls would be perfectly fine to do.

3x Barlow is honestly useless for this telescope. The best you're gonna get out of a telescope of this price for Eyepieces is a Celestron 8-24mm Zoom eyepiece and a 40mm Plossl
@achilles4022
@achilles4022 3 года назад
Why is it useless?
@MatthewHKnight
@MatthewHKnight 3 года назад
@@achilles4022 Because it doesn't even have a glass lense, 3x increases the current eyepiece power to unusable viewing. the only eyepiece that is really any use barely is the 20mm the 4mm has such a small hole and trying to find anything in the sky is not gonna be easy. You always wanna start out with the biggest number eyepiece then work your way down once you found the object.

Celestron 8 to 24mm 1.25 Zoom Eyepiece, 40mm Orion Sirius Plossl that's really the only 2 useful eyepieces for this telescope and it's the best you're gonna get out of the telescope . Also a GSO 1.25 99% Dielectric Mirror Diagonal is a good upgrade for this telescopes as well. A lot of these parts you can some times find on Cloudynights classifieds

Does the 4mm eyepiece included actually work because it’s higher magnification than the scope can handle
@MatthewHKnight
@MatthewHKnight 4 года назад
Na it's trash I made a video explaining the eyepieces I recommend for this scope. 3x Barlow is trash as well. You can some times find the stuff I recommended on a site called cloudynights classifieds you just need to be careful for possible scams.

There is a video I made about this telescope on this channel about upgrades I got it this telescope also in this video description are links to upgrades I recommend thats the best you will get out of a telescope of this size. The key thing also is using a bigger number eyepiece that will give you a wider field of view and smaller number gives you a tighter field of view. I only recommend 4 eyepieces and a diagonal upgrade. Also important that your telescope has the correct focus that's why I recommend you practice on the moon finding objects in the night sky is pretty tough until you get the hang of it the best thing to do as I said is make sure your telescope if focused correctly having the back of the telescope rolled out to far is will make stuff not in focus using it to far in will do the same. That's why using it on the Moon and playing with the focuser wheels you will see when you roll the wheels at the back too far the moon will be blurry and them same with having it to far in. Also take in mind that switching eyepieces will make this happen to that's why you need to adjust the focus to get it sharp again. I'd recommend looking at my Astronomy playlist on this channel and see the videos on I on this telescope.

Is this telescope worth buying for the moon and deeper sky observations?
@MatthewHKnight
@MatthewHKnight 4 года назад
It's a good grab and go scope, the downfall to this scope is unless you know where the object is in the night sky is then you will have a hard to finding it, This telescope isn't meant for imaging with but it can be done requires a lot of patience, If you want a telescope that can take you to a object then that will cost you a good amount of money GoTo telescopes require a bit of learning because you need to align the telescope with visible stars and they must be the right stars using the wrong stars will make the telescope take you to the wrong spot.

@@MatthewHKnight and for planetary observations like the moon etc it's great or? I'm planning to use it for the moon and near planets
@MatthewHKnight
@MatthewHKnight 4 года назад
@@-never-gonna-give-you-up- It's a good scope just don't expect to be able to see what you see in pictures the planets will be small because of how far away they're from Earth. Unless you're planning to spend money on a telescope around 11 inches in diameter or more then they will be small but you will be able to see them I did a bunch of videos using this telescope showing what I was able to do with it.

Can this telescope be used for stuff like the andromeda galaxy and Orion Nebula
@MatthewHKnight
@MatthewHKnight 2 года назад
Andromeda Galaxy just barely and if you do it will be very dim if even if you had hardly any light pollution you'd still only see a patch you won't see it like it is in pictures Orion can be see with a good dark sky but take in mind theirs limited stuff a telescope at this price can see. A CPC 1100 would be close to the telescope for some stuff but a lot off of the deep space stuff isn't gonna look like what you see in pictures with just an eye piece people put a lot of hours in to making them images.

@@bzmc Well the "Finder Scope" on this doesn't need to be focused, There is a reason I said use a object like the Moon because if you can get a nice crisp image of the Moon then once you find a planet mainly limited to Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus. they should be some what in focus and all you do is use the wheels at the back to go forward or backward till the object is sharp. If it's blurry then it's out of focus which means you need to roll the wheel the other way or your eyepiece is way over power. I'd recommend not using a 3x barlow. I mention in a past video about what you can expect to see unless you got the money to buy a telescope that's got more aperture something like a CPC800 or 1100 are the only 2 scopes I know that will allow you to see a lot more detail then a small scope like this.
