Second time watching... So so good. You covered the underlying concepts that others don't; that Coldcard allows input but not output. Yes yes, I get that it's related to the public and private keys, but what I NEEDED to understand was the reason that it's easy to send from Sparrow but not easy to send it anymore.

I bought my cold card a couple of months ago when I found that Trezor was possibly creating a back door and my spidi sense told me my security journey wasn’t over and quit possibly never will be. Your instruction made it easier for an old fossil like myself to setup my cold card. I’ll stay tuned and see how your channel grows. Do you know anything about seed signer?

Good morning, congratulations on the channel! Very good. I'm using a Coldcard on Sparrow, but I've never done a wallet recovery test using the seeds. Would you recommend it? And what's the best way? I'm afraid because I already have a reasonable amount and I haven't done this procedure before.

noticed when using air gapp to create a Sparrow Wallet with ColdCard your exported the generic JSON however, now ColdCard has a Sparrow Wallet export...do you now export that instead of the generic JSON from ColdCard? Thanks

Yes, there was a ColdCard update to add “Sparrow.” You can export that now, instead of the JSON file

Would you please do a tutorial on checking the Coldcard seed phrase? I'm nervous that I'll do sumthin wrong and not have access anymore. I didn't do it initially when it wasn't configured with Sparrow and now that I've memorized the seed phrase, I really want to keep it. Does it get changed if you erase it or can you recover the same seed phrase?

great video I'm buying it only $150 very good. one question 10:14 about the fees. it is calculated in cents/byte how do you know how do you calculate it if you gonna send like 100$? if the fee is $1 for sending $100 is it then $10 for sending $1000 for example? under the price it say $0.30 what di they stand for? is it a flat fee so it doesn't matter if you send one dollar or $10000? tyvm

Do you delete the PBST and signed transaction off of the SD card manually after you have successfully broadcast the transaction onto the Bitcoin network? How are those files managed over time?

I have questions for you, hope you can answer : 1/Can you do videos run full node by start9 Embassy? 2/Running bitcoin node ( bitcoin core) vs Start9 Embassy , which way is more security and avoiding interruption in case electric shut down or cyber attack? ( regardless of expensive). 3/Which laptop( MacBook Air or androids? is more security to run node ? Should use VPN for laptop become download sparrow software or during running node? 4/ regular internet or satellite ,which one is better for running node ?
@SouthernBitcoiner
@SouthernBitcoiner 9 месяцев назад
1. Not quite yet. Perhaps I will do one in the future. In the mean time, check out BTC sessions. 2. Start9 is probably better. Just make sure it is plugged into something that will not trip if the power does. 3. Not really sure which is more secure. Probably mac. Mullvad is a great vpn i recommend. 4. Either works. Use whatever you already have and has a better connection.

Do you have to set up a new JSON file each time you use Sparrow or you can use multiple Sparrow wallets on that one JSON file? Appreciate your response.

When you export the JSON file, you create 1 sparrow wallet that you can use for all transactions

Hello, I have a question hopefully you may can answer. I recently set up my cold card with sparrow. I just sent my first test transaction and the transaction is not showing up in sparrow. The transaction was confirmed on the blockchain and the addresses were correct. Do you have any idea why the transaction or balance is not showing up. I can’t seem to find a good answer anywhere else.

Before sending a large amount of Bitcoin to your Cold card you suggest a test spend first. Then wipe the seed from the Cold card and then reload the seed phrase do and do another test spend. This is to make sure the back up is correct. Question are you doing this to ensure that the seed phrase on your cold card is properly written down? I think its hard to incorrectly make a mistake here as Cold Card tests you after you set your 24 word seed phrase?
@SouthernBitcoiner
@SouthernBitcoiner 7 месяцев назад
Yes it’s hard to make a mistake but always best to double check when it comes to your long term stack. The purpose of this is to ensure that the seed you backed up can access your coins if the ColdCard breaks or is lost

How much of a problem is to show your amount of Bitcoin in your sparrow wallet? Can the public servers see your I.P. address? Also if you only import a wallet but don't run any transactions on it can they still see the amount of Bitcoin you are storing?
@SouthernBitcoiner
@SouthernBitcoiner 10 месяцев назад
Yes, it is a privacy problem. However, Sparrow Wallet connects to servers that do not track your bitcoin (but you have to trust that they are telling the truth) Yes, they can still see how much bitcoin you have because they have the public key, which tracks how much bitcoin you have. The best solution is to connect to your own node. I have a guide here: www.southernbitcoiner.com/how-to-run-a-bitcoin-node/

Could someone answer the following for me please. Once receiving the bitcoin on sparrow wallet, how does one go about sending it to the coldcard for storage?
@SouthernBitcoiner
@SouthernBitcoiner 10 месяцев назад
Because you exported the wallet from ColdCard to sparrow wallet, any funds that you send to sparrow are stored on the ColdCard
@AboutHouseMusic
@AboutHouseMusic 10 месяцев назад
@@SouthernBitcoinerThis means that I don't need any information stored on the sd card after exporting the coldcard wallet to sparrow, and that no further action needs to be taken for long term cold storage? And so the coldcard is essentially just a digital key then? I appreciate the fast response BTW.
@SouthernBitcoiner

Yes that’s right, any coins in sparrow are effectively stored in ColdCard. Yes, ColdCard doesn’t actually store any bitcoin. It stores your digital key that is needed to access your bitcoin.
