To help reduce the likelihood and severity of a frontal impact, the available CMBS is engineered to lightly brake if you don’t slow down when it senses you’re at risk of a collision. If it still senses an imminent collision, CMBS is designed to brake firmly.

Honda =#1 for life!... My Accord currently has 404 000 KMS and runs like new. We have 4 Honda's ...Everything is original besides Spark plugs, starter, oil switch sensor... I changed alternator @ 340 000 KMS That's it! I wouldn't even think about looking or buying anything else than Acura or Honda

Yep. I hate this feature. I have 0 accidents after nearly 20 years of driving and this feature has almost caused me to be rear ended 3 times in the 1 year I have owned the car. Forget to turnbit off everytime you start the car? Get ready to have your breaks slammed randomly while going 60 on the highway 🙃

@@boontish1104You can disable it where it stays off. You'll have to look in your owners manual or something but on my 2020 CR-V it can be disabled using either the infotainment system menu or the menu you access on the dash using the steering wheel buttons. Personally I've never had it do something like either of you have described. Not saying I don't believe you guys, I do. I have noticed that if I'm using the adaptive cruise control, the vehicle will slow down a bit if there is a car in the turning lane and I'm in the lane closest to them. But thankfully I found a work around. Just pressing the gas pedal lightly will stop it from auto applying the brakes at all. Other than that I've only had this help me out when some genius in front of me decides to turn at the very last second or something like that.

No it makes you break harder even though you are already breaking.

@@boontish1104 Mine is Honda CRV-V 2023 model, and it says in the manual that if you press the brake while it activates, it deactivates but I’m not sure if it really does, especially after what you’ve said. Thanks though 😟

My showroom new Accord Sport SE (2022) has started slamming the brakes on...no car/person/animal to the front, side nor rear of the car. Only 4000 miles. This car has left me dead in the road and unable to accelerate out of the BRAKE mode until it reset. Thank GOD everyone is able to get around me and not have a rear-end collision. That is completely the fault of the Honda Corporation and the Honda Accord alone. No assistance from Honda dealership other than "Turn it off". But to do this you need to enter into two levels of screens on the infotainment system. And you must repeat this every time you get back in the car. NO WAY HONDA! If you are thinking of purchasing a Honda with that system please look through the RU-vid and NHSTA accounts of unintended braking of the Hondas. And the fact that the forward collision brake system doesn't work as Honda's marketing department states it does in their advertisements. I sold my 10 month old Honda Accord to Carmax. They know of this issue with the Honda Accord. Thank you Honda for keeping we lemmings safe while operating your vehicles. Until they go rogue and place us in perilous situations. BTW check the recalls of the 2017 to 2019 Honda Accords for the same Brake issue! No thank you Honda!
