I'm a complete beginner. I wanted to learn how to color in adult coloring books. I don't like Prisma Premiers because I find them too soft. Would you recommend learning to draw first or getting comfortable with adult coloring books first? I'm interested in animals mostly and sometimes nature.

what i appriciate alot about Kristy is that even though she sells courses she makes her youtube video so educative and rich of information, others just use it as a 5 min promo for their class with barely any explanations. Right now i can't afford the courses but when i get a job i will make sure to get them and really level up my art more, thank you so much for your youtube channel

Storytime: Today I was cleaning my room looking for some color pencils (Crayola twistable) so I went to this shoe box in my room where I put my color pencils i was getting some when I find this color pencil that had the word "PRISMACOLOR" in it so I was like "I bet it's a fake prismacolor" since I have never had prismacolors I found another one and decided to make a test so I swatched it and it was so pigmented so i was like "Omg is this actually a prismacolor?" So I kept looking for more and found 18 in total turns out they were my sister's but she moved out of the house so I kept them and I'm only missing 6 since she had 24

Some years ago I got the 36 pack of polychromos without doing any research. Now, I found what I actually like to draw and that is mostly portraits. I am going to get prismacolors but right now There are some more serious things going on in the World. I want them for the smooth blending but while I was watching this video I realized that I was making some mistake when using solvent. Thank you for all the videos you make I really enjoy them and I also learn a lot from them.

Also, I don’t plan on using mainly art and selling it like most people would usually think. I was focusing on becoming a architect when I get older, if this doesn’t fit anything I’ve read in the replies, sorry. I’m still young to be able to understand most of this, heh! Parents aren’t always right, you can definitely make a living from art if you work hard and learn about how to grow an art business. These times are very different compared to when your parents were younger, when it was harder to make a living as an artist. But time’s have changed and there is so much opportunity out there to create a living from your passion nowadays. Your parents probably just don’t understand and maybe if you learn about how you could make money you could educate and persuade them. I actually made a recent video on 15 ways to make money from art 🥰

Kirsty is spot on there, as her mum I was very dubious at first when she told her dad and myself that she wanted to make a living out of art, I thought how is she going to manage that!! She did work to help fund her art channel at first until she became self sufficient and could start to make a good living from art. She certainly proved me wrong, and I have told her this. Her dad and I are incredibly proud of her and everything that she has achieved, she has worked extremely hard over the last 5 years. Never give up on your dreams and hopefully one day your mom might change her opinions, good luck 👍😊

I seriously cannot thank you enough! I have learned so much from your videos!! Thank you for sharing your secrets. Sometimes I feel like these things are "ancient Chinese secrets" and professional artists all have a club with a secret handshake and the main rule is to never divulge the truth to the methods that made their work so amazing! All the practicing in the world would never get these results without some of these methods so I am really grateful you have broken free of the code of honor and are rebelling by telling us how to get the most out of our work...along with practice of course!

I found using an embossing stylus much easier than an Exacto blade to create creases in the page. They come in different sizes and are perfect for signing your name in the corner of the paper before you start drawing. "Longdex Embossing Stylus Set 5PCS" I loved the video!
