If driving on highway to advoid getting a ticket set cruise control to to like 3 miles less than the speed limit ( for example if speed limit is 55 set cruise control to like 52 to 53 mph and you will not get pulled over for speeding ) good luck on using cruise control
I’ve never known what cruise control was for? And attempted to use it randomly throughout the years but never saw of felt the difference so I shall definitely give this a go when I’m on my next road trip.
Thanks. It’s great to see it explained in detail clearly. Especially useful for long distance motorway driving provided you don’t hog the middle lane or do 100 in the right lane
Could you please do a video about what to do when an emergency vehicle needs to get past. I failed my test today because I moved over to the left for an ambulance but accidentally went on the kerb
We would like to make a video about Emergency Vehicles, but since we can’t control when we see them it would be very difficult. Thanks for the idea though 👍🏼 Edit: This video gives some good advice - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-btRHvQEIkcU.html
Would like to say I find the limiter just as relaxing; sometimes use Cruise but rarely as I find as soon as you start using it the motorway will either slow down or the limit will change (on the overhead gantries) and so you need to either reset it or brake. Prefer the limiter. Can keep your foot on the gas to the floor and not worry about it.
I have been told by my driving instructor that I can book my driving test. Would I be able to go to the test centre without my instructor to take my driving test as it would be cheaper ? Thanks
The driving test centre doesn’t provide the vehicle to take your test in - so if you’re not going to use your instructors car then you must find another to use. If you’re most used to driving your instructors car, then it’s worth paying to use it and give yourself the best chance of passing.
Your video on cruise control is very good. However you did not mention not to use the cruise control in the wet due to the increased risk of aquaplaning
Sounds like something I would hate, It would feel like I am letting go of the steering wheel as I want to be in control at all times adn taking my foot off the accelerator is not something I would do.
My Ford Fiesta 2019 (manual) doesn’t have the clock kinda of button on top of the lim button. But it has all the set, cancel button. Does that mean my car doesn’t have a cruise control?
Idk if you already figured it out. But the button is probably on the side of your indicator levers similar to mine. Just press that button and then it should show on the screen that the cruise control has been turned on
Hi, when using cruise control does the car apply brakes automatically ? And is it good for a car, can we use cruise control on roads with uphill and downhill ?
Normally, cruise control can only vary the amount of accelerator used, and can't use the car's brakes - so you might need to step in and brake the car whenever you need to drive down steep hills or slow down quickly. However, more advanced cars that have 'adaptive' cruise control will use the brakes when necessary. It's fine to use the cruise control on gentle up and down hills, but when it gets steep you might be better off driving the car yourself.
Thanks first time having a car with cruise control from next week. Didn’t realise how easy it is by pressing the button when using the cruising speed you want I thought you had to adjust first manually not automatically.
Thanks for explaining the system with a Focus. I've recently become an owner of a Focus and my steering wheel has the exact same button layout. Was the wondering what thoes buttons were. Not that I need cruise control in where I live but very informative. 👍🏻
Well done on 81k subs i knew youd work im continueing that signs video will be helpful on your next one like i said overall im ok just little things like dont use gears to early doing msm and i talk out on lessons help .
Which settings option you chose for gear displayed on the dashboard please...I watched most of your videos but can't find one about this. Thanks for any help
A couple of minor comments. With it in use, it’s possible to have one’s foot just above the brakes from time to time, thus reducing the reaction time if need be, c.f. with having to move from one to another, without unwantedly slowing down. Only about 1/2 a second or so, but better than nothing at higher speeds. In a hybrid car, I find it useful on variable gradients to make best use of regenerative braking downhill without using the manual brake application - as long as the traction battery isn’t full! It’s a wee bit like using lower gears on falling gradients on manual gearbox cars. Your comment on average speed monitoring is good - it’s becoming more common on roads these days, especially in parts of south Wales. In some cars (e.g. my Toyota Yaris), it’s possible to temporarily override the cruise setting using the accelerator when needed, then let it drift down to the set value (can also be reset to the higher value); I sometimes do this on motorway journeys. In one of my older cars, which was a Honda Civic, it used numeric speed values for settings, so steps were more precise in metric units, rather than imperial, so I always used km/h for that car; it was more precise that way for minor adjustments. That model did not have an analogue speedometer display.
Hello i have a question, I have Peugeot 207 and when i try to turn on cruise control it controls my music system instead. What's the reason and the solution?
Not quite. If we press cancel, the car will remember the last speed we had set, so we can use resume to get the car to adjust it’s speed on its own. If we press off, it won’t remember the speed, and we will have to manually set our speed next time we need to cruise.
We can't make a separate video for every different car, but most cruise control systems work in similar ways. To find out how yours works, just read the car's manual!
You’ll never be prosecuted for speeding if you are on or under the limit - but when driving in poor weather or heavy traffic we may need to reduce our speed of course 👍🏼
It’s fine to either use the + & - buttons to adjust our cruising speed, or if you prefer you can do it yourself with the foot pedals and the press SET again.
Sorry im french i do not speak good i english i meanth he uses his whole foot for the accelerator and the brake whereas normally have to use only the tip of the foot. you understand ?
Thank you for this awesome presented video! By miles away best in its category/CC You guys still havent mentioned anything about where the gear lever stays or which gear is required to be on when the CC is activated... And if its a manual gear box ,for the ones new to the CC system ,how the gear changing takes place automatically if the car has a manual gear box???
Thanks for getting back to me bit its still not clear So just for example purposes: 6 gear manual box I am in 4th gear at 50mph and I use the rocker to set my CC at 50mph, after a wile I can do 70mph still in my 4th gear ,I use the rocker on the steering wheel and pressing UP I speed up to 70mph which is a speed adequate for 5th or 6th gear Do I change the gear myself or just by using the rocker I will speed up to 70mph and the car will change gear accordingly?
I just bought a Ford focus 2020 and l can't wait to for it to be delivered. I'm looking forward to using cruise control for the first time. I don't think it has adaptive cruise control on it though. 🤔
Do you have to set cruise control before you set off because you day got use + to set speed , can,'t you just press cruise button what ever speed your doing when foot on accelerator
We don't have a video just about that, but they are mentioned in these two; Changing Lanes Safely: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eRTAxottBkY.html Pulling Away: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MYUabKcjac.html
