Never trap your cut off between the “rip fence” and the blade. The miter gauge should be used on the left side of the blade for that cut, do some research before you pass along any other tips.

I haven't used my saw yet (exact model he is using ) because I'm watching MULTIPLE videos to learn about safety. I have been reading the manual and highlighting important info, etc, and reading blogs and articles so I will know what I'm doing with arguably the most dangerous tool one can own. As soon as he started doing that, I cringed! I've watched a lot of people showing worse than this by putting their hands WAY too close to the blade without the guard. He isn’t the first I have seen to make this mistake, but if someone is going to make an "instructional video", they should know what they are doing, especially if doing something wrong can result in injury. It should have been clear to him how awkward and unstable what he was doing was. I hope no one gets hurt doing this because they think he is an expert. He is not. 😳 No safety gear sends a bad message as well. At least wear some safety glasses!

Please delete this video. That mitered cut you made at the end was so dangerous. I literally cringed. You’re asking for kickback trying to use the miter gauge, fence, and push stick all together. It’s a fence, not a width gauge. It’s a miter gauge, not an angle cut gauge. It’s a miter slot, not a port. It’s honestly dangerous for first time table saw users to watch your video. Not trying to troll you, just trying to keep others from following this guidance.

David Hale It’s always dangerous using one of these machines. I may not have done the cut perfectly how it was designed to be used. but it worked and it has always worked I’ve never had a kickback from it. Thanks for your feedback

I agree with David Hale , everything you demonstrated was DANGEROUS at best and potentially deadly at worst. You should be banned for putting peoples lives at risk with this idiotic video. If you have never had a kickback from your ill advised techniques it is just dumb luck. You are flirtin with disaster.

Hi David Hale, I would like to say that we Germans love security and what is shown in the video is in no way dangerous. Are you talking about kickback? The piece of wood that he saw with the rip fence has no effect on a kickback as it is not wider / longer than the saw blade itself. The German version of the DWE7485 table saw has no kickback knives in the scope of delivery, so much for the nightmare kickback. In addition, a kickback only occurs because the wood tapers again at the end when sawing. This is what the riving knife is intended for. Therefore, I suggest deleting your comment, because such comments scare beginners! @all: Sorry for my bad english...🙄

@@heisenberg4649 the last cut was extremely dangerous. You never put the mitre degree angler in between the saw and the fence. Kickback is the second most dangerous thing, the worst being trapping your arm or hand on the wrong side

I have been using a table saw for over fifty years. This video made me cringe. His next video will show him with 7 fingers. DO NOT FOLLOW HIS PRACTICE.

I am not too concerned about the fact that the way you cut the longer pieces left a lot to be desired as far as making the cuts parallel to each other (which they couldn't have been without making at least three long cuts due to the first cut being made more or less freehand), but the lack of at least safety goggles as well as the totally improper (and dangerous) use of the miter gauge, just shows that you should NOT be trying to instruct others on the proper use of a table saw. Table saws are unforgiving and should only be used when the operator uses the proper techniques and has the proper respect for the saw itself. I have been using saws of all types for a very long time and I can tell you that quite a few people have fewer digits and or whole appendages as a result of using a saw improperly. Some weren't even as careless as you. The next time that you want to demonstrate something for other DIYers, please take the time to learn how to use whatever it is properly and safely. Not just for your audience's sake, but for your own as well. I really would not like to hear that you had any accidents that could've been avoided if you had taken the proper care. I genuinely felt compelled to write this for your safety as well as the others who watch you.

I bought this saw 3 months ago and never used a table saw before. Its sat in my shop collecting dust until I watched your tutorial. Thank you- it was just the right amount of info I needed to get started using this saw with confidence.

Out of all the videos on this saw, none show a long piece of wood being cut. Thank you! It never occurred to me to walk around the saw as it was on to get the whole piece thru it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I have a Dewalt miter saw and the Dewalt table saw (new, and have not used it just yet). How does the cut in the table saw compare to the miter saw when you did the 2x4 mitered cut?

Why not use a straight guide with a circular saw then run through the table saw?, I recently bought one of those table saws, im going to attempt to run it off grid.

great video, you actually shot this on my birthday, 8-17 really nice to see you actually using the blade guard, my wife's uncle gave me his older Delta TS200 table saw he is in his later 80s just cut his fingers for the 2nd time i believe, no blade guard, no riving knife it seems like there is a very large gap on the left side of the plate that sits over the blade. i was making a few practice cuts and the boards kept rising up, the saw just feels dangerous, i like the set up of this one, thanks again great video.

Please cut the last cut you made from this video coz its too dangerous how you did it. In case of kick back by using the push stick on the miter you better put on a helmet and wear a combat suit.

Have not found any Dewalt dealer that come up with a table saw stand with wheels that will work with the DWE7485. I am 80 plus years and want wheels to move it around as I no longer can lift the weight to move it.
