Judy Kessinger has the final answer yet again!! The only video that deals with proper winding AND let's not forget to change the stitch length. Once I reviewed her video...BINGO...It worked!! Dr. Judy...You're the best!
Thank you so much for this video, Judy! There are many videos on RU-vid on using elastic thread in the bobbin, but yours is the very first one I've seen that tells us to use the machine tension guides and actually stretch the elastic thread while winding onto the bobbin using the automated winding function of our machines! Every other video I've seen says to hand wind the elastic thread onto a bobbin being careful NOT to stretch the elastic. Well, I'm here to tell you that I tried your method and IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY!! WOOHOO, Judy! Thank you!
Thank you for a clear and concise instructions. I am copying a favorite pair of pajama bottoms that has this elastic thread waistband. I made my baby sister a red polka dot tube top in about 1973. 👍💕🙋🏼♀️
Thank you Judy hands down to you! I appreciate this.I know I’m here a long while after you posting this butttt, thanks! I see a lot of people have used this method so I’m definitely going to try this! Your a lifesaver. I’ve had this elastic thread sitting in my thread box for about a year now it’s going to be a good use 😜
Thank you, great info. I think I will now try this. So if I understand correctly,....you only use the thread on the bobbin? Is that true all the time. I would have used it in both top & bottom if I didn't watch this video. So happy I looked first. I like the way you teach...please continue to show us...it is easy to understand and easy to watch! Great job!!!
After reading comments, looks like we have to go somewhere else to get questions answered. Too bad, otherwise it was a very good video. Am I to understand since she didn't address it that everthing else is figure it out by testing?
but you didnt explain about the tension, the width and the length or it doesn't matter? because I tried it and my machine didn't make the ruffle and instead the elastic is loose onder there
It doesn't seem like the creator of this video is answering questions but maybe someone in the comment section can help. I'd like to know what needle is used. Does it need to be a stretch needle or ballpoint?
@@angelashannon81 Her video only showed using the thread in the bobbin so that's the answer. I've seen this in books and on other tutorials, just the bobbin.
Oh Judy your lovely videos such a help. Your blue navy blue and orange jacket , did you put the sheering in the back as well as the front , and am I able to purchase the pattern for the jacket? Thank you Judy . June longmore
How much material will I need to use to make a formfitting dress with the elastic thread like how you make the sundress with the shearing at the top when I need to use the same amount of fabric one and a half the size of the BREAST
I have a question, and for anyone that can answer. Does the elastic only go in the bobbin and reg thread on the top, or both elastic on bottom and top? I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance
I'm not sure why so many are asking this when she only shows the elastic thread in the bobbin. If it goes in both, she would have done it that way. And this is what I've seen from other sewing tutorials.
