Gonal-F is an injectable medication used in IVF treatment. It comes in 900, 450 and 300 unit variants. I would now like to show you how it is administered. First of all, before every application, please make sure that you wash your hands and place the box on a clean surface.
Open the packaging and remove the contents. You will find the applicator pen and disposable injection tips. Open the cap of the applicator pen and attach one of the disposable injection tips by screwing it on to the applicator pen. You can then confirm that it is firmly in place. You can adjust the dosage according to the strength prescribed to you by your doctor as shown here. As you adjust the dosage, the button will move outwards. After you set the correct dosage, remove both protective caps of the injection needle. The applicator pen is now ready for usage. Wipe with alcohol either the right or left side of your belly button and aim for 5cm to the left or right of your belly button. Insert the needle perpendicularly as shown and apply the complete dosage previously set. After removing the needle use another cotton with alcohol to wipe the area. You can confirm that the complete dose has been administered by checking that the number shown here is zero.
You can then put the 2 caps on the needle and completely unscrew and discard the needle tip. You can then put the cover on the applicator pen which can now be kept for next application.
