great video. i have neglected to use Keychain on my iPhone for years and now i realize how important it is & how much time is saved by not having to type usernames/password. THANK YOU! you clearly explained how passwords can be saved and appear with a simple click.
Great video. I have a question tho, what if I don’t have access to either my phone or mac, can I retrieve passwords from the cloud? This is the reason I still prefer using the chrome passwords manager... in an emergency I’d be able to see my passwords in another computer. Maybe this is possible too with iCloud?
I bought a new iPad and I want to access keychain passwords that were saved on my older iPad, is that possible? I’ve used same iCloud account on both iPads but I don’t see my old passwords on the new iPad!! 😭
Can we use with chrome or does it have to be safari (on mac)? I keep downloading the chrome extension but I get a notification that says it will work automatically when I log into icloud. But after logging into iCloud, still nothing... please help
For access using your MacBook, does it have to be a certain year for it to have that feature? I have a 2013 and it’s not auto populating for me when I try logging in using safari. I am able to pull up the keychain app and make changes & etc.
How does login from a different PC or device work now if you let Apple use random or strong password? Do I literally have to type that all in? What about letting KeyChain change my password to a given app or site? Do I need to still go through the "change password" at said app or site or is it done in the background?
Glad I found your channel, I updated many passwords however there were some I could not get updated. This is what happened. I go to website, if I had an app for that it would send me there. That’s when I couldn’t get it to chose a strong password for me, and saving was an issue when I manually imputed the new password. Am I doing it wrong? Thanks

Thank you. When you go into keychain access on the Mac, why are there some round blue icons and pencil icons? Are all those things in the list passwords? Or usernames? And what’s the diff between those icons?

For some reason it doesn’t automatically ask you anymore to save passwords. Checked all my settings all the toggles were on for keychain passwords auto fill everything. And it has not asked me to save a password in almost a year. Picked up the iPhone 12 promax still doesn’t work. Easiest set up at first. Make one small mistake choosing not to save a password and it hasn’t ask EVER again
It happened to me all you have to do it go on Setting search up Passwords & then click on auto fill password you then click password options & then you click on the “ Allow filling from ICLOUD Password & Keychain “ it will work I just fixed mine.
What can I do if I forgot my passcode after erasing my phone cuz my key chain and all saved passwords are gone and it keep asking for my old passcode for me to access it which I don’t know

I often try to get help from RU-vid about my iPhone. And as most people can see the screen, the helps and advice sections are for people who can touch the icons they can see on the screen. As a blind person, I’m using voice over. I hope that this video will tell me how I can get iPhone to stop policing my passwords. That is, I’m looking for a setting I can change so that if I happen to use the same password for a few sites or apps that it won’t notify my password so that when I’m on that site stupid thing treats it like an invalid password even though when I check my saved passwords again there it is. I’m getting really frustrated and I am surprised this phone hasn’t taken a test flight or maybe two or three… Thousand. Any help to put the password police asleep or out of commission would be greatly appreciated.

(;-_-)ノ the best options depending on the website you used to login, if that website(s) is still in operation as long as you remember user login/email/phone number or equivalent option to recover a password or ether by resetting you password. It is wise to use a password manager ICloud Keychain is a free available option and many more such as LastPass, Bitwarden and more. Just keep in mind website such as Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and more which support 2FA will ask you a way to authenticate yourself if you want to access your account or by one of those one time use Back up code (Safeguard those in a physical paper or a notebook 📓 or which way your refer is important) some website are insane strictly if you lose password even if you remember the login user then used all back up still can’t login scenario no having other methods to recover your account (Gameover). Some may even ask insane to show your ID to the official website to make sure your the owner of the account. If you wish to be anonymous search that in online. I recommend a RU-vidr by the name “The hated one” it will help you out understand more about the world of the internet and data and privacy. Won’t suggest a strong password on wife’s devices. I’ve been using the feature for years but it’s not doing it on her devices. Setting, at a glance, appear the same on her iOS devices as on mine. Any ideas on why it wouldn’t be suggesting passwords?
