As you talked about "view insight" I have used #tags but all shows N/A yet I had likes on my picture sometime it reached to 200 to 20 likes where I am getting that from??
Your tip on mixing popular and niche hashtags is spot on, mate. Been doing that with the help of boost app social, even offers AI suggestions for captions. Keeps things fresh!
This video has helped me so much. I've come from getting 2 to 6 impressions from hashtags to 60 in only one day! Thank you so much, I'm getting more followers now
I don’t usually comment under posts because I’m not sure if people actually reads it But this has to be the most effective way 👏🏾 I went from 11 persons clicking hashtags to 600 persons clicking my post from hashtags my profile got wayyy more engagement and I’m seeing my profile reach is growing ! Would recommend anyone to do that 👏🏾
Just an update - before this video my posts have been getting between 10-20 impressions from hashtags. After watching this video and implementing the strategies, my recent post got 96 impressions from hashtags within the first hour. Cheers and thanks for this video!
@@JamieRiene Hi Jamie! I literally just went on Instagram on my phone, went to search, and went over to hashtags. Then I typed them in individually and looked at the search volume.
Awesome! I'm not sure, but Jamie and Nathaniel, you might be talking about different things. Impressions on posts going up can't be tracked directly to a specific hashtag(s). You can search individually on popularity of hashtags (which Jenn explains). If your Instagram is a business account (which it should be!), look at insights for impressions & activity... this is not directly related to specific hashtags, but will show your post performance. You should be able to notice changes if you implement Jenn's suggestions. -Megan🤓
Social Media Examiner Hi Megan! This could just be my slow processing, but I do see the exact number of impressions from hashtags when I click “insights” and scroll down. It doesn’t show me specifically each hashtag, but it shows hashtag reach as a whole. I thought Jamie was talking about where I went to research the search volume of each specific hashtag - I did that just by searching the hashtags on the search page. Maybe I’m lost - either way, this video really helped me get a grip on which hashtags I should be using!
Haha, I can relate to feeling lost, Nathanael! It shows "Impressions," but that isn't necessarily tied to your hashtags, right? The impressions number listed is how many eyeballs have been on your post. And, yes, as Jenn described, we can search on the the popularity of individual hashtags too. -Megan🤓
It is definitely a great reminder watching this video. I always told to myself to at least give it 15 hashtag per post. But obviously, the three hashtag categories mentioned at the beginning is helpful a lot. Many thanks for this insights.
The car insurance analogy... my lights went ON!! Jaw dropped. This just opened up a whole new world of understanding hashtags. SUBSCRIBED!!! ...and thank you SO MUCH!!!! ...and VERY GOOD presentation skills! You are truly gifted.
Just started implementing the minimum 15 hashtags strategy. Every post got above 100 engagement. For a start that is fantastic for us. Please share more such tips related to FACEBOOK HASHTAGS. We will be grateful for that.
well I tried checking my post on how many people actually clicked on my profile based on the hashtag, it doesn't show up but of course this is before i saw your video, how ever i will try what you have suggested and keep you updated, thanks!
I'm little new to Instagram shocking 😂 but my question is, do I need post the same 15-20 hashtag for every post or should I have 15-20 different hashtags for every post
Mixing it up is a good idea! I personally have a few chunks of hashtags I use (keep them in the Notes app on my phone), and I rotate them. I hope that helps! -Megan🤓
This is absolutely amazing, I went from getting 11 likes to between 30 and 45 likes. I went from only 20 something followers to 193 and I made my account September 29th, 2020 and it is today November 11th, 2020. Thank You!
I could not locate the "view insights" feature, instead after researching why, I learned that currently, insights are only available to businesses and accounts with high levels of engagement on Instagram. Thank you so much for this info. Just made my list and redone my hashtags on some of my posts. I'm very excited to see if anything changes.
It shouldn't have an impact either way. Since captions are truncated anyway, many folks just keep them in the caption (plus, this allows you to still use scheduling tools- since none that I am aware of allow you to schedule comments). -Mitch
-Hero profile picture -Bio (who are you, why are you doing it) -Highlights: introduction for people who have never seen you before -3-5 stories everyday (tags) -Feed post everyday -Biggest effort to connect with commenters Exposure
So much prayer for you. And I put this video to watch again and again whenever I will work on Instagram, so that I won't miss and mistake any thing. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for your content as a returning to work beauty school teacher social media is very confusing and I thank god we have young people to teach us old dogs new tricks. xxx
I knew most of what you talked about. What caught my ear and might help me is thinking about your audience in selecting your hashtags. The car insurance example was very helpful. I will give it a try in selecting some new hashtags for my niche. Thank you!
Thanks a lot - probably the first video explaining the mechanism in really understandable a graspable way. From the description of hashtags working over time it´s similar to how perfume works - you also smell part after part in longer time period.
@@SocialMediaExaminer I'm curious about this too! For example, in the video you said very popular hashtags should have a post bracket of (300K to 1M). Is there a post bracket the niche-specific hashtags should follow also?
Thanks a lot for this video!! Appreciate your tips, this video is one of the best on instagram I've seen. I am glad I found your channel. So I went to see insights for hashtags and I barely have engagements from hashtags!! although a few video did have it. Also I'd recommend to switch to a Business / Creator profile SOONER rather than later because I did it way too late and cannot really analize most of the posts (150+) just because they were posted on a personal account and now appear as N/A for the detailed stats. Which tells me that I should urgently switch my other 2 accounts to business.
Thank you, Tatiana! We are glad you found us! You are totally right... the sooner you can switch your accounts to one that provides more robust analytics, the better. -Mitch
I always use popular hashtags like jewelry, ootd, finejewelry, etc. It seems they expose to wrong people cos the posts impression is very low. I will use your strategy to find the correct audience and get more exposure & engagement. Thank you for sharing! 😄
It’s a good strategy to use.. I only started using last few days after researching big small and niche hashtags. So far only get 1-2 likes. No sales or followers yet. Bit sceptical at this stage
Branded hashtags are directly related to a specific brand or company -- any, not just well known brands. What hashtags would reference your brand only? Nike, for example, might use #JustDoIt or something to do with a new shoe coming out. We used #SMMW20 for last year's conference. You'll want to do some research to make sure no one else is already using it and keep using them on your content (and encourage others to use it) until there's a curated stack of posts that all have to do with your brand. Hope that helps! This article helps explain what a branded hashtag is if you need more info: www.socialmediaexaminer.com/how-to-use-instagram-hashtags-business-guide-marketers/ ✌️
very interesting video! I am going to try it out immediately... but, maybe a silly question, but can I also go back and add the new hashtags to older posts, or is that useless?
@@SocialMediaExaminer Absolutely Mike. * You don't talk about average numbers of likes and comments of top 9 posts on hashtags. The strategy will not make any sense for anyone if you're not researching average numbers, therefore you can't rank on hashtags. * You should never use POPULAR irrelevant hashtags to your niche and content. That's not how Instagram works. * You should always use 30 hashtags no matter what. This is how I grew @newyorkbridesmag @coloradobridesmag and 40+ other pages on Instagram. I gain on average 500-1700 followers PER POST. * You should create different sets of hashtags for each category of your posting pattern. For example, I'm in a wedding niche but I post content about wedding dresses, grooms, brides, couples in love. Each category has relevant hashtags. Hope this helps, Cheers
@@MomciloUzunovic Hey Alek, great to hear you talk about what's worked for you. This video talks about what worked for Jen. I think you both know what you're talking about. - Mike

Super helpfuk, thank you Jenn! What I’m curious about is how you determine the order of your hashtags, since I know the first 5 hashtags you use will have the most impact?
Hi, this is prolly the best video about hashtags on RU-vid. Just one question tho, what should be the range for the niche specific hashtags?? (Like popular or moderately popular)
@Lil Kame Z well, the point is "how successfull is your post?" If you reach a place in the top posts for an hashtag (also small hashtags) you'll see coming likes and comments everyday or week.
All the instagram tutorials are the same, a lot of explanation on how the instagram algorithm works but nothing practical, in fact all you have to do is to post constantly and have quality posts
Hello, a question, my IG post was originally in the "most recent" posts section, and went to the hashtag page's profile picture and # 1 post in the "featured" posts section. How did it get there and how do I do that again?
This is the most informative video in the most simple language.. but what happens if I change my hashtags of old posts .. will it still receive more views ??
Hello. Great videos. Question please. Do you have to be a business profile for the # to work ? I’m a small company and I like the choices of music when not a biz profile.
Thank you very much, I had instagram since summer and used my firs hashtag today ! I write rhyming fairytales , illustrating them and then post it all on my youtube channel. Now I just need to learn how to promote youtube ) Thank you very much for this amazing information
Wow, what a great & helpful video. I actually was searching for help within Instagram on how to edit a post....but then I found you! Thought I’d see what the video was about. Glad I did! Took your advice, along with a few other tips I read here & there and used them on a recent post. Can you believe my video was viewed over 1,800 time & still counting! I even received tons of likes as well as new followers. Thank you for sharing! ☺️
This is awesome - Id love to hear more about how to use this as step one to get to the next part, converting the instagram account into something that increases site traffic, sales, revenue and success!
Hi thanks for the valuable video. I wanted to know. How can I know which ones of those hashtags are working and which one of them are not working? Is there a way for me to know?
thank you for this video!! i own a digital art business with shirts music and more ive been looking for a promising strategy that will help me to success ive been using alot of hashtags that are bringing in bot traffic i think i have realized what i can do thank you so much again i hope i can upgrade my success by doing your strategys!
Great vid! But I have a question I can't seem to get answered. If I posted today and put hashtags in the comment section. If I comment another group of hashtags the next day under the same post would that make my post current again?
Hey Torzell- Updates to older posts used to get bumped up in the feed, but that is no longer the case. The algorithm in Instagram does not look at updates. -Megan🤓
