My biggest problem was separating the filament from the tape. I never notice in any other videos how to do that. Thank you so much for clearly showing how that is done.
YOU ARE THE MAN!!! The vague 5 step instruction picture that comes with the 3M tape is pukn useless! along with the 2 other peoples youtube videos i watched.. 1:26 into your video and BAM!! im a goddam pro. lol.. thanks mate :D
Was just about to return my knifless tape until i found this video. Thanks for the help! Now I can do it like a pro after a couple times of testing on my office desk haha. Now onto the vehicles!
I know I've asked about this stuff before, and I've begged to see it in action. This is fucking awesome, and I definitely learned something new today. My one question would be, "Since you guys have so many different methods and different areas of vehicles to do, would this be a go-to source for pinstriping effect, or just another tool at your disposal ?" I definitely like the results, regardless. Keep 'em coming, y'all.
Can you please tell me if you overlapped two pieces of vinyl would this tape be strong enough to cut both so you would have two perfect butt edges. I want to wrap a guitar with 2 pieces a front in back. I want to put this tape along the middle if the side of the guitar and overlap the top and bottom piece and hopefully use this to perfectly put them together. Thanks
Hey Daniel, how would you go about making a sharp point with knifeless tape? Would you need to use more than one strip? Like the shapes from the gtr you recently unwrapped.
Joseph Kaufman Its round, no blade. Like fishink line, now technically it can cut, if you press hard enough and slide along it fast enough, but theres no way you could ever do that accidentally. It also has to be in the air, not against any surface.
We just opened a wrap shop for orphon kids who were in our repair training shop. The guy we employed to teach them did a runner with a lot of kit and 14 full rolls of Vinyl. Well I dont know much about wrapping, So i did a check up and foundthe garage. The boys are over the moon that the shop will stay open. Well now i found the wrap gurue I can teach them by watching you. Just learnt how you use cutting tape. Brilliant. The American School sayd many thanks.
That’s what I did!!! But the string just started peeling from underneath the tape lmao. Shits retarted and got me in a Fck fit. I half to retake and try it now from the vinyl I just laid for Fck sake!!
Awesome video :) Question please guys...when using soapy water to install PPF, at what stage do you cut the film with this tape ? Wait for it to dry completely ? Many thanks for assisting :)
Haha I thought I was missing something, breaking string free. Couldnt get it to cut so I layed out my line and used string as guide for my knife while the tape helped from scoring the vehicle 😂
I will try this method. For the life of me I can’t get the filament to split the backing on top. It keeps pulling the filament from the side and ultimately won’t cut the vinyl.
what about fingering of they vinyl? Doesn't the vinyl at times get these little rough "fingers" ? Also, what about wrapping a tube shape, such as a bike frame... .Can you use knifeless tape to cut TWO overlapping pieces of vinyl?
thank you for this, last video I watched he didn't even show how to use the knifeless tape.. I have a question though, I want to wrap my entire jeep in one solid color but don't wanna spend 5 k. When doing the hood, where there's the blank space where the hood shuts down. What would I do for that?? Just easily cut it? Or do they make knifeless tape that's wider?? Also, when wrapping the whole vehicle I'd still have to do it in sections but won't that make it look odd? I'll obviously practice before doing it on my vehicle. Also, when you wrap, how long does it last??? Thanks in advance for anyone who has the answers for me lol!
If you're just doing a 1 inch or 1.5 inch wide straight stripe, do you need the knife-less tape. I plan on doing two straight black stripes on my hood where the stripe runs the full length of the hood. Thanks and excellent video... Phil
Hey, can you use knifeless tape on window tint, headlight/taillight yellow tint film? Wondering if it is made of similar material and can be cut by knifeless. Thanks
Can you lay one straight line of tape perpendicular or across at an angle to another to create a design? If so, when you pull the first (upper layer) will it disturb the one below it.
