It doesn't matter if it contains HA or not; apply any skincare products (except for water-based cleansers) to dry skin. So, after cleansing, pat the skin dry, then, apply the serum, wait for it to absorb, and then move on to the next step (if you want to use anything else on top); otherwise, leave it. Just as I've demonstrated in the short.

What CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser do you use? In general, it's best to use a non-exfoliating acid cleanser because LRP Effaclar Serum is already an exfoliating acid serum :) If you exfoliate your skin too much/ too often, it can lead to sensitivities.

Well, it largely depends on the type of hyperpigmentation you have. For melasma, it may not be as effective. However, for sun-damaged skin and dark spots, it should help accelerate the fading process.

Therefore, it's best to start with a small amount and see how your skin reacts. Well, it depends on your personal skin tolerance. In my opinion, it's quite strong, so I would recommend starting with 2-3 times per week in the evening. See how that goes, and then increase or decrease as needed. Essentially, you need to test it.

If you want to use it in your morning routine and you have sun exposure, yes, follow with your sunscreen afterwards. However, my recommendation would be to use it in the evening only because this way the skin has enough time to regenerate during the night. :)

This product already contains AHA and BHA, as it includes Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid. Therefore, there's no need for an additional AHA or BHA. Just use the one you prefer the most.

Yeah, that is really a mystery. I also experience the same issue with getting pimples in the exact same spots as before. I have just created a poll about this in my community tab. I believe it is because the skin is getting rid of toxins that have accumulated in the body. From my experience, Epiduo, or let's say, a good benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, works best for treating these pimples and making them disappear quicker. So, there's no need to purchase other products; they don't necessarily work any better. It's really about figuring out what is causing the problem in the first place.

I have been using the epidou as the Spot Treatment like you and also my doctor said, it was not good, i realized that when it’s used like a cream all over my face it had better results. Then i did some research and found out it’s better to use adapalen as a full face treatment and benzoyl peroxide as a Spot Treatment. For that i think i should stop using epidou and get differin gel. But to be honest, i wish I could just figure out my perfect non medicated skin routine and be happy forever 😭

The Effaclar Serum already contains a bit of Niacinamide. So, I would use TO Niacinamide in the AM and the Effaclar Serum in the PM 😊 However, you can theoretically also use them together, using the Effaclar Serum first.

If your skin is not sensitive, I recommend going with the Effaclar Serum as it has a nice blend of exfoliating acids. However, if you are on a budget, you might consider using products from The Ordinary, G&G, or Good Molecules. Their formulations are often just as good, sometimes even better, and more affordable.

Hmm, it's a bit intense, so I would start with 2-3 times per week and then increase to see what your skin can tolerate and what you actually need. ;) It's hard to say, and there is no way around testing it.

Especially in the beginning, to see how your skin tolerates the individual treatments. After that, you may be able to use them in the same routine. I recommend giving your skin enough time to heal. In that case, it's best to not use anything on your neck. If the irritation is too severe, I recommend getting it checked by a doctor. Do you have physical acne scars, like are they dented deep into the skin or more like dark spots?

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Some red spots, left over from inflamed adult acnes cured by antibiotics. The spots are I don't think deep within the skin, been a few weeks since I'm finished with the antibiotics so the scars are fresh. I have one dark spot below neck from an acne a year ago, it's not a bother at all tho. (I will hear you out if you have a fix for that as well though haha.) So yeah after putting it on, the skin was like what the hell are you doing and it was red hot and i had to splash cold water a few times to let the sheer heat come down then I applied 2,5% hydrocortisone and the neck was back to normal as if nothing happened in 2 hours. I think it's this knee jerk reaction of me overusing it without watching your video? Didn't apply to my face because I had no scars, just neck/chin. If this product cures high sebum production I could also apply on whole face.

​@@TillTheLightTakesUs Ok, well, depending on your skin, it is able to heal those red spots on its own - it just needs time. However, sometimes they can be really stubborn, and exfoliating acids like the serum you are using, Niacinamide, Azelaic Acid, or Retinol may help to reduce them as well.

​@@HodaCharafi Okay, I recommend following the routine I've outlined above. You can use your Toleriane Cream in the morning (AM) or evening (PM) if you experience dryness, but that's about it. I would still suggest choosing a light gel or gel-cream moisturizer, something that isn't too heavy or contains heavy oils. Use the moisturizer after the DUO+, M, or K, if really needed!
