I agree to every thing you said about using leaves as bedding. Last year I kept 3 paper bag full of mulched leaves and grass clippings in my basements. I run my humidifier in my basement and it dries the leaves and clippings very fast. I have no bug issue. It seems using dry leaves as a bedding more practical than using compost leaves.
Yeah, drying the leaves is a lot more practical than composting them. I would compost leaves only if I was trying to compost food scraps or manure along with them. I like try dry texture, it balances humidity so well and keeps the bin smelling very earthy and healthy.
In my area there are a lot of neem trees. Can i use dry neem tree leaves as worms bedding? Can i use the leaves alone as a bedding? They seem to not absorb moisture, not the same like cardboard But in my area, the neem leaves they are the easiest source of carbon
I would decompose first. Neem has oils that are irritating--used for pest control. So, you want to make sure they are broken down and no oils are intact by the time you expose your worms to them.
