Good question - incorporating secondary criticism is an advanced technique, so it's a requirement for A-Level / IB or even university-level English studies. That said, if students are able to demonstrate this skill at GCSE, then it'll be super impressive. Of course, whether or not you can score top grades would depend on how well you master the fundamentals (i.e. the AOs).
