As someone who has been manually typing references, you are a lifesaver, I am happy to share that I set up Mendeley by watching your video. Thank you for sharing. The tool I am having trouble using is the Mendeley web importer. I have added it to my browser but I can't successfully use it
Very beneficial video. Do you need to wait until you're completely finished with your dissertation before having Mendeley create the ref. list or will it delete any duplicates?
I was struggling with the organization part of a literature review for a few weeks....and I stumbled upon this! Exactly what I'm looking for! And, it seems to be one of the best videos out there! Thank you very much. (From Nepal)
Thank you so much for this tutorial, it was a life saver for me! Easy to follow and understand, really helped me set up Mendeley for my master's thesis 👍👍
I'm just starting Doctoral school and had to find a reference tool. I'm completely sold!!! Thanks so much for the explanation and the fact that I can use this in Word because that's a game-changer for me! 🥰👍
Thanks, Grad, for great sharing. My problem is after making citation in the end of the sentence, I want to make a new sentence. However, my sentence is still in the box of citation. How to get out of this box? Thanks.
Please keep showing the screen with document and Mendeley instead of your face. We are here to learn the process related to Mendeley. Moving back and forth between your face and laptop/ desktop screen is really frustrating.
I found it but I've been since yesterday trying to link the Mendeley to my word (offline and online) and they don't link, idk why. The offline asks for the Mendeley desktop app (different from the one I downloaded from ur video), and the online... idk it just doesn't connect. I really wanted to use the tools from your video
My word doc doesnt show the mendley link in reference section, i have installed it right. Is there any diffeent way to get the add in? does anyone know what could be the problem?
My university asks to number every citation using brackets (like [1], [2], [3] etc.) and put the bibliography with the corresponding numbers at the end of the document. How can I do that with Mendeley?
I have 440 references on my citavi software. Now I have a Mac system which citavi is not compatible with. I tried to export data from citavi through bib Formate to suit Mendeley and took it but Mendeley was not able to read it. Please guide me how to export it from citavi right then import it to Mendeley. 440 references is a lot of work to do manually 🙏
One feature that is missing from the web version is the “ watch folder” that is available in Mendeley desktop. Wish it has sync folder so we don’t have to upload files every times but just save the files in watch folder and it automatically appears there
You claim that Mendeley makes sure that references are perfectly formatted. The first things that need to be correct are lower and upper case letters, sub-, and superscripts. How do you introduce, for example, a subscript in a title? Mendeley Reference Manager should automatically export the change to at least one BibTeX file whenever the format is modified. How do this? I
I spent several years without using Mendeley. The Mendeley social network no longer exists, where we could find public groups to participate in, the Feed section, etc.?
Thank you for your great tutorial. I have a word document using refworks. I need to transfer to Zotero. I exported my articles to Zotero, but my previous citations created by refworks are not supported. What can I do?
So, I noticed a glitch. I started adding references manually without saving them to the Mendeley desktop. I want to continue with the automatic citing with Mendeley, but the numbers need to be tallied. Mendeley prefers to continue from the references it stopped at. Kindly help. It seems like my project has stopped.
Thank you for the video. Please, I am issue trying to upload the bibliography. When I try to, I keep seeing 'there are no citations in this document. Insert a citation to insert a bibliography.
mendeley is awful i have downloaded it twice and the icon just keeps appearing grey and i cant click or use it whatsoever. only managed to use it to cite something ONCE before it went back to being grey again. complete waste of my time
Gosh...these days to do one core thing, there are too many side things to get the hang of. Watching this with annoyance since the uni asks to cite with mendeley which take a longer time to understand to actually use it. Not my things but I really hope your video helps me than the uni's page about how to use mendeley.
I have a problem: if i update the references from library , for example i need to cite the last article added in mendely this one is not found 😞 i don’t know what to i have no time please help me
Hello, how can I lock the font style with Mendeley? I'm experiencing this issue; say I'm tying in "Times New Roman" but when I add the citations they come with a different style and every time I open the file I need to change the font again. It's easy to change the bibliography but the in-text citations take a lot of time. Please help
I have MS word and Mendeley account but everytime I try to add the plug in I get the error message ‘ADD-IN ERROR We can’t load this add in because we could not connect to the catalog’ on MS Word, I have MS Word 2016. Please help.
Thank you for your vídeo. I have a question, when you upload a PDF, means that we going to occupy cloud space, right? And we need to buy that space, right?
When inserting my bibliography, Mendeley doesn't write when webpages was last accessed, which is very important for my thesis supervisor. I use APA 7 as the citation style, but that shouldn't cause this problem, I think?
I think this one may be the best video. But more clarification required how to insert the reference in MS Word 2021 seems to be missing. For scientific manuscript drafting, Reference Citation and Bibliography is more important. How to insert the citation in the text is seems to missing. Older version of Mendeley 1.19 series are more user friendly, now seens to be not compatible with MS Office 2021
Another Question, when importing .ris or .pdf files into Mendeley, it doesn't always save it as the right reference type ie journal; book etc. so your reference list will not be correctly formatted. Is there a shortcut for checking and updating your references to the correct type?
Can you explain the literature catalogue spreadsheet: the meaning of the columns Citations and Citations PA, especially the numbers you put in it, please?
Hey! Thank you for this great tutorial, a great kickstart for thesis! I am having an issue with opening the added reference in my library to PDF. I don't have the "Read" button at all, when opening that reference and it's details on the sidebar. Do you have a solution for this or did it vanish with some update?
It's probably a good idea to check that you have the latest version of Mendeley (if using the desktop version) or use the web version. Also, naturally, check that you did add the PDF.
