We have just started using MS Teams and your videos are my go to, especially for all the new features. I have picked up so much not just in MS Teams. Clear, concise with a sense of humour, thank you.
Hi Kevin, Great video. Can a customer choose to make an appointment with multiple staff at the same time? Also is there a way to gain analytics of what types of services are being booked and by who?
Thank you very much for this great tutorial. My question is: can I set a booking time to be selected by multiple customers, and limit that to a specific number of customers per each time slot? Thank you very much in advance.
Did you find a solution? Even if not a specific feature, I wonder if you could do this workaround: say you wanted to be able to meet with up to 10 people at once. Maybe you could create 10 "employees" (really all yourself), and set all as available during the time that you want to allow 10 customers or clients to simultaneously book. If you don't want multiple clients in another time slot, then let the other 9 copies of yourself be unavailable then. [I wonder if the 10 copies of yourself can all share the same email address and outlook calendar!]
MS Office 365 has many applications. I want to know for each of them what is the best practice. For example, when to use Teams, and when to use SharePoint. Thanks for the great videos, Kevin!
Thanks Kevin! I just learned a new MS tool in under 30 minutes! great review with great real life scenarios, awesome how your videos help even 2 years later!
Trying to apply this to an office where one person needs to schedule with 500 individuals over the course of a year. It would be nice if you could toggle the wording in the initial set-up, so that businesses could use that language, teachers, offices, etc. We are already wrapping our minds around using a service-based app for meetings. Thanks for this in-depth review.
Hi Kevin, thanks for this. are we able to make ourselves available for 2 different time periods on the same day eg. 9-1.30pm and then again from3pm until 6pm?
Nice overview Kevin -- As a Calendly user trying to transition to MS Bookings I find that once someone books a mtg on my calendar via MS Bookings, I cannot edit or move that meeting if something comes up and I need to do so. Is there a setting to allow this?
After setting up booking, how do it embed this to my SharePoint site. Thank you for another great educational video. It makes me more and more wanting to use Microsoft.
Thanks for this! Your tutorials are always so succinct. I'm a college instructor, and we're still going to be online for the fall (2020). Because I don't have the opportunity to walk the classroom and check-in with my students one-on-one to see how they're doing; I want to meet briefly each week with every one of my students via a Teams video call, but I don't want to deal with tonnes of emails back and forth to confirm meeting times. Last semester I asked students to use the Scheduling Assistant in Outlook or Teams to set up a meeting in my calendar when I was free, but it wasn't ideal. I'm going to give Bookings a try this coming semester. The buffer and staff features are the most interesting for me. It's exhausting going from one Teams meeting directly into another - I like the opportunity to get up and stretch or quickly scan my Outlook inbox or Teams activity before I head into the next meeting. It's also great that I can set up my colleagues as Staff and our students can have one central and unified way of booking meetings with their instructors.
Presumably, if the meeting is to be attended by more than the individual who booked it - e.g. a group of students booking a meeting with a teacher; a wife booking an appointment for her and her husband to see a marriage counselor, etc... the one booking the meeting/appointment must forward the meeting invite to whomever else should attend. There is no way to add other attendees from within Bookings. Correct?
William Thompson similar question - I need to schedule 10-12 students to come is for testing. Can I enter the number of seats open for each appointment and then have it show full when I reach the maximum number? I could have a slot for next available seat, if another person has to drop.
Very interesting. Here's what I didn't find out: We have events e.g. that takes place from 08-12. The issue is the customer is not allowed to choose date and time. There are fixed date and time which have few numbers of available seats. How can I manage to allow them to book this appointment without choosing a time slot. Another point is, is it possible to give only a few time slots which I will allow.
I've set this up for work so as to allow bookings for EV chargers ..would you suggest setting up services for individual chargers ? ....as it stands it allows multiple bookings for same time slots but there is no way of limiting this to just the 6 chargers
Awesome! Per my understanding, MS Bookings is for business accounts. How about those who have consumers accounts who would like to book meetings with family members or friends in different time zones? I have a consumer account, using 1 TB for each account of my family member, Do I have to get a business plan to get MS Bookings? Is there another app in MS 365? Thank you.
Hi Kevin, this is really interesting. Would you recommend this for internal teams that don't sell services but time slots to different departments? Would everyone need access to Bookings or just the organiser?
Hello Kevin. Thanks for your help! I followed the instructions step by step. I have encountered one error. I set my specific hours and configured the settings to specific that only when I am free on my calendar. However, it does not connect with my regular outlook. Example if I am free at 2:00 pm on bookings it allows a customer to book. But I may have a meeting from 2-3:00 pm on my regular outlook calendar. Any workaround on this?
A great overview! Is there a way to DELAY the confirmation. I'd rather: a client books time with me. I get an email REQUESTING the appointment. And then I click to confirm. Is this a possible feature? I've looked high and low and everything seems to automate the confirmation.
Great presentation! is there a way to coordinate multiple people from outside your team so they can collaborate on a time. Maybe give options and then each person says what options work for them.
Nice job Kevin. To anyone... We have reception staff that book out other educational tutors. How does that work? We don't want the reception staff to be "bookable", just the tutors. Can I hide the receptionists but still have them log in to book appts on the student's behalf?
Thanks for the great video, Kevin. I'm hoping you can answer my question. Is there a way for a parent to book more than one staff member for the same meeting? For example, I want to book a conference for my child with the math and English teacher at the same time. How would the school set that up to make it possible?
Great video Kevin... my question is how do i use the Microsoft booking for a corporate shared mail box not personal like mine so the bookings can be in that calendar primarily
Can you use MS Bookings to set up a meeting between groups of people, or is it just one-to-one? Eg. for a training session, one might want the external customer to send an individual and the individual's manager, and then there might be three of our staff who need to be involved in the session.
Hi Kevin, this video is really well made, and i think its ideal for what im looking for. One question, is it possible to incorporate payment into bookings? It would save a lot of hassle to have the customer pay for the bookings via the site
Wow! So easy to understand. I am looking to use this for dock scheduling for deliveries. Any thoughts how this would work? I was thinking staff could be the dock number.
Thank you for your easy to understand presentation! In the video your "not created in Bookings" appointments show up "Busy" in the Bookings calendar. Mine do not show up at all. What is the fix for this? I've spent hours searching for a solution. TIA!
Great series of videos and thanks so much - we are a franchise location so we have our Exchange email and calendar with the Franchise e-mail address. Our version of MS Office is only for our office - and those email inboxes are generally not monitored.... my question is can we set up bookings to use our exchange calendars from the franchise?
Hello Kevin, When someone tries to set an appointment, will you received a notification and do you have the option to approuves or declines it before it appears in your calendar ? Thank you
Thanks for the very informational video. Since this recording, MS added an "Onboarding" page that slightly changes things on the very front end, but then it matches up just fine. (Yes, well aware it'll constantly change.) I appreciate you helping me get my own Bookings created!
Hi Kevin, thanks for the explanations, which helped a lot. If you can solve the following problem then you will be my hero and we can use the bookings tool: How do you solve the issue if your service is at different locations? Let's say the consultant wants to offer a slot for one day in a month in Paris, then in Munich, than London... etc. All booking tools until now are about the same location, but what if it changes? I only see that customers can choose location service. Or would I need to set a calendar service for "Consulting Paris", "Consulting Rome", etc.? Looking forward to your reply.
Thank you for this tutorial, it was very informative! However, I have a few questions: 1. I accidently created a booking page that I do not want anymore- how do I delete it? 2. I have multiple booking pages -- one for our business and then a few separate ones for each staff member. Is there an easy way that I can switch from one of these pages to another without having to search each time?
Thank you so much! Very informative video. I have a question. If I have a consulting event coming up and I wish to have a day as a reserve. I will open up the reserve day for booking if there is oversubscription on the first day. Is MS Bookings able to support that? i.e. I will set up MS Bookings for 2 days (Monday and Tuesday for example). I will first open up Monday for booking. If there is oversubscription, I will then open up Tuesday for booking. Am I able to do that in MS Bookings?
My homepage doesn't have ANY of these things. There is no sidebar with settings, no getting started, nothing except for one booking page that I made last year. Multiple browsers.
Hi Kevin, great tutorial! I'm an IT guy and am going to start using this within the firm to book installations and such. Should be interesting. One thing that's noticeably missing, if a person you invite to book already has an M365 account and they go to the booking page, I would think that it would recognize who they are automatically (assuming they are signed in on their browsers) and not require them to fill out their name, email, etc. Or, at the very least, be able to add customers from the GAL. ah well.
Great video Kevin. However, when I try to access the site I'm met with a "Server Error in '/' Application." Page and cannot get around it. This happens across devices, browsers and networks, whether logged in or not or in incognito. Any idea what might be going on here?
Thank you Kevin for the Awesome video. It would be great if you could create an updated video on Microsoft Bookings as a lot has changed on GUI & Options.
Hi Kevin, the video is great. However, may I know if you need to check something on the user/connection first? like pre-requisites as I am having BadGateway error
Staff need to be a Microsoft 360 user? Or you can use one single Microsoft 360 suscription for a lot of staff (I need them to be able to see their calendar). Thanks!
Thank you, Kevin! I've just started work with a tutoring startup, considering using Bookings. This helped me get a great overview of the product! I'd also like to maybe use for my personal freelance tutoring business - but I have only Personal Microsoft 365. If I were to get a business account to have access to Bookings, what happens to my existing copies of Office programs and files? Will I end up with 2 copies of Office programs, or will it just be implemented as an upgrade, and continue the stuff I have, now as part of a Business subscription?
I want to use MS Bookings so that students can self register for online classes that occur monthly. Is MS Bookings set-up for group bookings, such as an online class? I noticed that if no one signs up for a class, it doesn't show on the MS Bookings calendar. So there is no way to see the set class time, if no one books. I find that all of the information does not display on the Customer tab, such as the required phone number. The answers to the additional questions do not display on the customer tab. I have to go into the scheduled date, find the customer and use the edit function to see the answers. MS bookings does not seem to be functioning in an intuitive manner. Suggestions welcome.
Good job on the video content Kevin. A few suggestions though; I've seen other screen recordings from other people that either zoom the screen when you click on an item or highlight the clicks on the screen. And I think having a black larger Mouse would be helpful as well. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! I did some research today and will include a highlighted cursor moving forward so it's really clear to see where it is. I'll also make sure to zoom in closer so you can see all the details. Always things to keep improving on :)
Kevin, Thank you! I am a teacher, and I was trying to figure out an easier way to schedule my students for registration for the upcoming school year. Beautiful!!! Thank you :)
Could you tell me more about what you're trying to do? Do you have set times for meetings and then you want people to sign up for those set times? Bookings is more meant for individual customers / students to pick a time from available times vs. multiple students choosing from a set of pre-determined times.
@@KevinStratvert @kay hardin I am an educator and looking for the same functionality as Kay where I can allow multiple people to sign up for one particular workshop. Can I make bookings work for this or do you suggest another Microsoft feature?
Help! How does Bookings assign staff evenly if I do not allow the customer to pick a staff’s name? Consider the following scenario for a staff of 3 people: - Alex has 2 bookings assigned to him today. - Ann has 3 bookings assigned to her today. - John has 1 booking assigned to him today. - All three are available at 2 PM, as selected by a customer. Will John be placed as the priority to receive the booking because he has the fewest number of bookings? Once John and Alex both have 2 bookings, will Ann ever be the person assigned to this booking since she has the most bookings?
Thank you so much for this video! It’s great! A couple of questions We want to use MS bookings solely for internal purposes as an interactive calendar through Teams So if you wish to for example book ‘leave’ do you need to set it up as a free service? (You can’t just book a time without a pre-set service?) Also can you colour code different services to show on the calendar?
Hey. Great video. I am using bookings for the first time for group briefings where colleagues sign up to a briefing. In normal calendar invites i can email all of the attendees. How do I do this in bookings? It doesnt look like it is possible which is odd
Hi! There's an option on the Services page that shows the maximum nunber of attenees per event. Is it possible to change it? For example, I'd like to set for 5 attencees per event as I'd would use it to schedule a cowork space. Thanks a lot!
If I run a dental clinic, how can the public patients find the specific link to book an appointment? Do I have to own a business website before using the Microsoft bookings please? Thank you!
Kevin, is there a way to have multiple people book onto a meeting at the same time? Say for a class? The beauty of this would be the link to teams and training?
Great video Kevin!! I want to schedule an event for two days only. Is there a way to only show those two days or does the customer have to click through the calendar in order to find the right days? Ex: Event is 8/7 and 8/8 but people can access Bookings in May but the calendar starts on whichever day they access the system. I would like the booking to only show the two days of my event. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Hi Kevin! Is there any way to book more than one person for an event? For example, I want my staff (e.g., John) to search for a time when I and someone else (e.g., Lucy) are available for a meeting. John would search for booking options based on availability on my and Lucy's calendar, book a time where we both are available, and we both would be notified.
hi @kevin, fantastic tool! currently using it for meeting bookings. i do have an issue with default assignment to one of my staff set as team member, but i don't want that person being the default. i want the default to go to someone else who is actually managing this booking page, so any notifications are sent to this person or a default email inbox. please help!
Hey Kyle, I'm trying to set up Bookings for my office and I'm having a problem. The business hours are set up for 9-5, but when I go to the bookings page to book an appointment to test, it shows 5:45 AM to 11:45 AM as the available times. Any advice?
Hi @kevin stratvert this is really good , thanks. Is there a way to get the data of patient that booked with the dentist (for example) and what time? As one would get data file for Forms.
Nice vdeo, but I would like to ask - is there any other way to delete an reservation than on Bookings web page / calendar? Say I use "user1" with his Office 365 license as creator of Bookings calendar, I set him as one and only staff for reservations. Someone makes reservation, user1 gets e-mail in his mailbox, he can see reservation in his Outlook calendar, but there seems to be no way to cancel this reservation from Outlook, only from Bookings calendar directly. Or is there any way to cancel directly from Outlook? Thanks in advance!
Hi - Great tutorial! Question: On the Services tab - A certain option is greyed out and unchangeable. It is the "Maximum # of Attendees per Event". I need to be able to have 10 folks sign up for each slot... and the Option seems to be stuck on 1 person no matter what else I change. Any help?
Hi! I have a question. At my company, we have two rooms where clients can book time slots for themselves, and I made two separate booking pages for the two rooms. However, microsoft calendar I guess is just using one calendar for both. What ends up happening is, when a client books Room A for 3pm, the calendar will show that Room B is booked for that same time slot. It doesn't show up as available for the Room B booking, even though it is. How do I make it so that it is two independent rooms being booked in my calendar? This has been very difficult to deal with, and we cannot have as many bookings as we can. I'd appreciate any tips or help with this issue. Thank you!
for us, our staff needs to show up to the customers based on the language preferences.. is it possible for us to show staff based on responses in the form.. for e.g. if a customer is from North America, Show John's calendar... if he is from Europe, show Mike's calendar.
After setting up my first service, it doesn't recognize my personal calendar. Does this mean I have to transfer my personal calendar to my service calendar? Like other apps (that integrate with MS), I want my calendars to automatically disable dates and times booked. If anyone has a solution, please share. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for this overview, Kevin! We're rolling out bookings as a way to encourage our members to schedule time with us when they need assistance or want to book key services like our ribbon cuttings and outreach visits. This was a great overview to get us started.
Great tutorial! Does the person that books a meeting have to have a Microsoft account with Teams to be able to attend an online meeting with me? How can the Team meeting link be added to the booking also? Thanks
I know this is just an overview video, so I would like to see another video, that delves deeper into topics like what will happen if you limit your customer base to just people in your company, how does that work, I just tried it and got a very general error message, it did not tell me why it went wrong. Also when you link to your outlook calendar, will it automatically cancel your booking slots if you get dragged into a meeting at work? Can you prioritise appointments, so if someone sends me a meeting request for when I have a possible books slot, and I try to accept the meeting, what will happen? Can a customer specify they want a physical or virtual visit? In a post-Covid world, that becomes an important feature. Likewise, I may not be comfortable trying to fix my problem with someone on a screen, so I do want you to come visit my desk, it just seems like that is an important thing to offer.
Great video. But i want people to book a room with 30minute timeslots. But also make them available for multiple hours. So for instance Pete needs a room for 1 hour. And Johan needs a room for 3 hours. How do i do that?
When you send out a booking to a parent does the parent see the teacher email address or do they see a generic email address? If two teachers in the same department/subject create a booking schedule, does the available booking time link with each teacher's booking calendar? Thanks for creating great video's Kevin.
Hi Kevin, Is it possible to use bookings for meeting rooms? Physical meeting rooms. We have list of room resources available and we want to use bookings for the rooms. Is that possible?
Hello. I want something specific about booking. I have a shop where people can online arrange appointments. Τhere are two positions that work in the morning and in the afternoon. When one of my employees has scheduled leave i want to close the appointments for his/her position. Now i have to enter each day and close e.g the afternoon appointments. Is there any script or something i can use to close e.g 1-15 July only the afternoon appointments for position 2? If i choose to close 1-15 July from 13.00 to 21.00, booking close day appointments also from 2 to 15 July. I'm looking forward for your answer. Thank you!!
Hi, part of managing appointments is canceling appointments both by Admin, Staff, or clients. I figured out how to cancel as Admin/Staff but not for the client. Can you (or someone in the thread) (1) let me know how the client can cancel, (2) are you notified, and (3) is it taken off the calendar (I use Outlook).
Hi Kevin, I really like your video! Made it simple for setup! Question my bookings calendar tab is set up on the wrong time zone how do I correct that? Thank you.
I'm trying to use this to book appointments in two different rooms. How can I integrate custom rooms and their availabilities? (away from what the organisation has set up as rooms; I want to make my own as these are makeshift locations for a pilot project)
Hello. Thanks for this really helpful tutorial! Is it possible to send different confirmation emails if a different staff is chosen (each staff has their customised email content)?
Could you show how to add multiple services on one? For example a massage therapist you can book a 30 min, 45, 60min appointment etc and how to show their different prices
Great videos, and have watched a number of your informative videos, Question, can Bookings also include a lecture room or other resources so I get a booking but would also like it to auto book the lecture room as a number of us are using the same room? Jason
