THis is a basic operation in all other programs, push two or three buttons. in Maya it's a complicated, hard stuff that needs a 5 minute tutorial to do it correctly, otherwise it doesn't work.
my absolute favorite part is this one 4:41 a bit of context to anyone who reads this comment, it just happens that some times to not say every time, the mirror fuction messes up my face topology and each time when that occurred I had to fix it somehow until this new revelation came out.
Sir, i need your help ...please help me. When i am instance duplicating the object it is not mirror duplicated. It is getting normal duplicate. I have everything but not working 😭😭😭😭please help
when i merge the verticles in the middle, it does not merge at all! it's been aligned to the line and it's no gaps at all. i had no choice but to combine both mirrored objects and had to used symmetry to just edit the mesh.

help.. why is it when I duplicate special it does not duplicate next to the object.. even though all the coordinates match up, it duplicates wayy up the y axis
Hi nalin I have also an issue But don't know why this is happening into mine. I model a low poly prop under 1100 to 1500 faces But when I preview smooth shade it's showing me polycount area 4k /four thousand faces But I didn't apply smooth modifier When I press keyboard no.3 It's shows me too much polycount faces on that prop Why this is happening Plz help me into this
Hi My friend! Yes even if you dont apply the modifier the polycount still increases. Even tho it is a preview it will still add polygons to show that preview, it just means they are not permanent.

duplicate create 2+ halves of the object (so you will have multiple objects), mirror create a half but it merge with the 1st half to create 1 whole object
