Surveying ,water modeling , urban planning 2. types > spatial Gdata(data containing ground(location or longitude and latitude information like a shapefile .shp data ) non spatial Gdata (data that doesnott contain location information like table containing names of all roads of Lahore city of Pakistan) 3.vector data > that is expressed in points( many points joined make lines n polygons it is discontinuous data it is used for making clear boundries roads etc ) raster data > that is expressed in pixels like pixels makes image it is continuous data used to show the features like vegetation soil etc
