Thank you Dr. Davin Lim! Not long ago I purchased a 20% Niacinamide serum but I wasn't sure if I should add it to my a.m. or p.m. routine. This will be part of my p.m. routine now. 😍 Good to know about the benefits for the skin with taking a niacin supplement which I have been taking for awhile now.

Currently using La Roche Posey retinol B3 serum. I've never felt anything so smooth on my skin. I first apply (Thayers hydrating milky toner ). The last step is my face cream (Eight Saints up the anti night cream). Not to forget eye cream; (dermalogica age smart multivitamin power firm)

Niacinamide is one of my favorite ingredients! I have rosacea but not sensitive skin. Ive been able to really reduce it through learning about skin care & using Korean skin care! I have a powder niacinamide. I know it’s water based… right?! I don’t use it a ton, mostly bc I forget or I’m in a hurry! But I also want to make sure I’m using if correctly. I will pour a tiny amount, the amount of the small scoop included, in my hand, then add toner, mix by simply rubbing my hands together & pat on face. This has never bothered my skin at all. Here’s where I get confused (& start overthink everything), how do I know for sure what the best Toner is to mix with? I think I know what toners are water based… then I confuse myself bc I have very dry skin so I do use heavier toners/essences. Again, I’m pretty sure I know what ingredients I can/can’t use with niacinamide… but again I end up getting myself confused. What is the best way to use my powder? And the most effective ingredients to mix with? I’ve also put in my lotion/cream before. Thank you!!!

Hey doctor I bought three products cerave moisturizing cream, cerave cleanser and the ordinary niacinamide 10% so what I do is that first I wash my face with cleanser then I use the serum and then I use moisturizing cream on top of it before goin to bed and I been following this routine for 23 days now what it has done to me is that it has reduced the oil only but the pigmentation and the uneven skin tone is still their . Do you recommend I keep using it for like 2 months to see the results or it has been enough…?

There have been some reports that nicotinamide riboside may lead to increase chances of breast cancer and chance of metastasis. Since niacin is now in so many products do you think this could contribute to the problem?
@kmaddox6857
@kmaddox6857 9 месяцев назад
There is much information about this on the internet -- good sources such as the NIH -- but it is quite confusing and there is conflicting reporting. I think that Dr. Lim needs to address this topic and concern since he is doing videos to promote niacinamide. One report says that niacinamide "may" be safe.

Anytime I use anything with Niacinamide I get tiny red bumps filled with clear liqud all around my face. I have tried countless products because I couldn't believe that Niacinamide could cause such reaction, but after trying serum that had identical ingridients to my toner except for niacinamide and glycerine ( never had reaction to glycerine btw) I had a rash again. Does anyone know why this could be ? Am I just allergic ? I have had some unpleasant reactions to vitamin B supplements before

thank you for your explanation. Is there an alternative for Niacinamide? I do not tolerate it well. I bought it a couple of years ago from the Ordinary and noticed irritation. So I stopped using it. After seeing and reading again about the helpfull ingredients and the fact it isn't an irritator, I decided to give it a go ones more. But again, my skin can only tolerate one small drop mixed with hyaluronic (both Ordinary again). I do not see or notice any changes. It doesn't do anything for redness or calming my skin (I even think it contributes to redness). Is there another product to use or is the one of the Ordinary to potent?
@mtaahahabib9844
@mtaahahabib9844 3 месяца назад
actually ordinary's niacinamide serum is in 10% concentration. You need something around 3-5% concentration. If youve got 10% niacinamide, mix it with some moisturizer to reduce its strength. It will help you with your problems.

These things work much better if we are consuming them along with using skin care products. Also, drink your water stop making excuses.

Dr Lim, I’ve been using the brand Rejuvuas medical grade skincare for awhile now and they have a Niacinamide serum that I incorporate into my morning routine, they also have a serum for night time which has the ABC repair and restore that I incorporate into my nighttime skincare routine, I highly recommend this Australian brand, my age spots are fading and I’ve noticed my skin is much brighter than it was, I’ve been using medical grade skincare for years and my skincare of choice was always Osmosis until I started using Rejuvuas skincare products, I’ve even started using their cleanser at night as my second cleanse, I was wondering your thoughts on the brand if you have any…!!! i started using the niacinamide a week ago and i'm experiencing a very very bad breakout, like many new pimples started to appear on my cheeks and it's something that i'm not used to, i feel discouraged and i'm thinking to give up especially that niacinamide doesn't not increase skin cell turnover so i'm pretty sure this is not a skinpurging but more like a bad reaction to it , lol I don't know why this is happening to me , maybe the concentration 10% is very high or my skin is not liking it, if someone is like me please answer to this comment

@@Piecesoftheshadow one can use silk pillow cases. No squishing no wrinkles. Back-sleepers beware. "I know many people find it to be comfortable, because they're not putting weight on their joints," says Dr. Lois Krahn, a Mayo Clinic sleep specialist. But Mayo Clinic experts say sleeping on your back is actually the worst sleeping position, especially if you have sleep apnea. "Sleeping on the back means that your tongue and jaw can fall down and crowd your airway. And many people snore more on their back," says Dr. Krahn. Sleeping on your stomach helps keep the airway open, but it can put a strain on your spine and neck. "There's a host of evidence overall suggesting that probably sleeping on the side is better," says Dr. Virend Somers, a cardiologist and director of the sleep facility within Mayo Clinic's Center for Clinical and Translational Science. Side sleeping helps prevent the airway from collapsing and can reduce snoring. "And so, all in all, sleeping on the side - perhaps with their head slightly elevated as long as that's comfortable - is a good way to sleep," says Dr. Krahn. Side sleeping also is recommended during pregnancy, especially the last trimester. And sleeping on the left side is best because it keeps pressure off internal organs and promotes healthy blood flow. "When you are in that third trimester of pregnancy and when you sleep on your back, the uterus is compressing your inferior vena cava. It's compressing the arterial system," says Dr. Somers. Sleeping on your side also is considered by the Sleep Foundation as the best for people with neck and back pain, especially if you place a small pillow between your knees. "Because if you don't have a pillow between your knees, that stress of sleeping on the side pulls on your hip and can cause some issues," says Dr. Somers.
