You, Sir, are an excellent teacher! I've not decorated a cake in over 40 years. So much has changed. My next great adventure with you as my guide. Thank you.
It’s Time for the Academy Awards of Cake Decorating! May we ask you to tell the world how you feel about us? Nominate Chef Alan as your favorite Teacher (Best Learning Experience #13 and/or Hero #16) and Global Sugar Art as Best Retailer #18 of all things cakey! Thank you! #cakemasters bit.ly/2tMIXYx
It's after 2 am and I just can't get enough of your videos. They are so informative, I want to get my bakery started in my home but I am in between homes currently. I would mix and prepare them in my van since I have power enough for that but the Baking is the hard part. I will never give up and I will have my in-home Bakery and maybe a store as well. Take care and God Bless, Jill
........dropping by to say g’day to my favourite teacher, Chef Allan. It’s been a while since I’ve sat in on one of your classes, just finished watching your candy tutorial, thank you ........blessings from Sydney.
Thanks for another great demo. A scary moment when your pink centre wasn't centred ;-), but I knew that you'd come back and correct it, and of course, you did!

Love your work ,you take your time to show & explain it ...i have a question pls ...how long can you keep gumpaste or Fondant in the fridge when you make it ..
thank you so much I love all your tutorials..i cant wait to try the Mexican gum paste sounds great... when it comes to painting onto fondant is there any thing else I can use other than alcohol.. I know alcohol evaporates but im really after a non alcoholic fluid to paint with...I would really appreciate it if you could help me... thank you..
Hi, I am on the 4th lesson of the 3rd course in Wilton and I am doing fondant. I love these cutters. Now do you have to figure out measurements first so you know they are going to go all around the cake and you don't end up with a big space at the end?
Wonderful video! Thank you. I notice you didn't talk about the baby ladybug on the leaf. Do you have instructions and molds to make that? It is adorable and would be perfect for a ladybug lover I desire to make a cake for. Thank you.
Laira Allerai Thank you for your comments. This video was dedicated to the Patchwork Side Design cutters. The baby ladybug was a cold porcelain ornament I had on hand and it fit the cake perfectly.
Please can you tell me what shortening you are using to grease the board with thank you. I love all what you are showing us to do, you make it look so easy.
Greetings Alan --- quite interesting --- my question is how do you determine how many of those decorations go around the cake without overlapping them or have a space between the first and last piece ---- enjoyed this video --- have a nice day --- and thank you very much --- Ann
Alan, your videos are amazing, you inspire a lot to work.... Just now I got thick silicon patchwork sheet (if that's what it is called) not able to figure out how to use it because it doesn't have sharp edges to cut the design.... Can you please help here or with a video
GlobalSugarArt, these are silicon fondant mould, and they don't have sharp edges, so I am confused how to use them, it would be a great help if you will post a video regarding these moulds.
You can use fondant but fondant alone does not hold it's shape very well. The pieces would stretch out very easily when you try to remove them from the cutters or place them on a cake.
