Thank you thank you thank you!! I watched so many videos about peel base before finding yours. Every other one I watched, left me more conflicted and confused!! You gave a wonderful tutorial!!!!
Carole Annette yesss! It’s so hard to explain that feeling of when it doesn’t want to pop off. Lord knows I’ve had to soak a few off while experimenting with it!
Great video as always. I just this AM found out about “peel base “ , ordered the UNT , but then heard it’s bad/can hurt natural nails , which is what I have. They are growing out nicely thanks to dip polish and not real long yet, just a modest free edge. I don’t understand why people do the clear dip polish first, isn’t that defeating the whole purpose of not having to soak/use acetone (which has been a struggle for me, takes a lot longer than 10 mins despite following all tutorials out there). So I guess my question is, has the peel base hurt or negatively affected your natural nails? Thanks for your videos, so glad I found you!
As long as youre gentle with removal then no damage will occurs. The clear below the peel base is a protective layer that says on long term and protects your nails between manicures. This protective layer is filled and rebalanced monthly.
You will remove the peel base every time you remove your nails. If you're using a protective layer you'll fill and rebalance that as needed usually about once a month.
Love your videos they are so helpful. Going to try my first peal base mani tomorrow . My usual dip mani lasts 3 weeks without problems. But want to change colors more often. Like you the most important thing to me is protecting my natural nail. Wish me luck 🍀
What a fantastic video. You answered everyone of my questions. I loved how you put the information across, simple guidelines easy to follow. Thank you. 👍❤️
Followed your directions with full coat of peel base. I’m on day 5 no lifting. Will probably file edges to break seal if nothing happens today. Will let you know how I do 🤞🏻Thanks again for such great videos.
This was so helpful to see. I ordered peel base because soaking is just not an option for me now that the weather is cooler and my excema is flaring up, cant wait to experiment
Hi !! Your videos are super helpful! I am kind of new to dipping myself - so if you use peel base, do you still use dehydrator and primer first, then peel base ? Thanks for all the tips ♥️
Hiii! 💖 before peel base I push back my cuticles, shape my nails, apply dehydrator and then peel base. Totally optional but I choose to follow the same steps as I normally do 🥰
Thanks for the video! What do you do once your nails come off and you are ready to dip again? Do you remove the peel base and start all over? How do you remove the peel base? Or do you not need to remove it before your next dip? Thanks!!
Hi Mackenzie! Once my dip pops off, I prep my nails, apply peel base and dip! 💕 when the dip pops off, the peel base comes off too. So no need to remove anything or soak. It’s amazing! 🙌🏼
Optional but I do like to do 1 layer of dip base and let it dry on top of the peel base. This helps create an even surface and stops the next layer of dip base from drying too fast. So peel base, dip base (let dry), then dip base + dip powder as normal.
Wow! I’m going to try this tonight! So far I can never get my nail dip off peel-off base without soaking them in acetone or wrecking my natural nail prying at it. I have three coats clear, building an apex and will now try your suggested method. Excellent video- so good I have subscribed with notifications!
Sometimes soaking in warm water or nail oil can help peel base release. Taking an e file carefully around the edges to make sure that seal is broken can also help.
Super Helpful!! Peel base is like love hate until you figure out what works for you. I have yet to figure it BUT i have not tried this yet and it seems like a good method so I will give it a whirl. Thank you :)
thank you so much~ I found this video and you explain everything so well. So many videos just jump around and don't answer all they questions a notice might have. You really do a great job, keep it up. I'm going to finally take a stab at doing peel base! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Geisy121 I can get to 4-5 days before I notice any lifting! It’s really great! Some nails lift faster than others for me. A few as you see, take a little more work to get off. And glitter seems to stick on longer for me too! Thank you for watching! 💕
This was so helpful! I like to do my nails weekly, and been having trouble getting the peel base just right. I tried it with the layer of clear underneath but had a hard time separating the top from the bottom, covering the whole nail, I had one pop off that night and when I’ve tried partial coverage I’ve had better luck but broke a few nails in removal. Do you go all the way to the top free edge of the nail and just avoid the cuticle and the side walls?
Jessica Ayers oh no! Sorry to hear you broke a nail 😣 I do bring the peel base to the free edge tip. Personally I feel like that is my “weakest” point. So I’d rather make sure I get the peel base there so when I pop off they don’t tear or break. I do make sure to cap my edges really well with top coat though so I don’t get too much lifting. But if you start to get lots of lifting on your tips then I would adjust your peel base to not go there. Either just wiping it off or not applying it there. 💕 hope that helps!
Peel base is totally optional 💖 I use it to switch up manicures often but if you’d like yours to last then definitely skip peel base. The dip powder base coat is what’s needed with the dip powder. The activator is what will harden the dip base + powder for filing. The activator also is needed to help the top coat dry. I hope this helps! Please let me know if I misunderstood 🫶🏻
So after you do the dip powder, complete it all the way through to the top coat. Then do peel base. Once the peel base is dry then I like to do a layer of base liquid and let it dry. Peel base can make dip liquids dry really fast and uneven so a layer of base liquid (and let dry) can help. It’s totally optional though! Then you apply the base liquid and dip + keep going as usual. 🫶🏻
Wow 🤩 I love your natural nail length!!🥰 currently working on growing my nails can you do a video on supplements you take nail care routine you do to have and keep you nails so healthy and long ? Thanks in advance
Thank you so much! 🥰 I actually don’t take any supplements or vitamins 🙊 I give all credit to daily cuticle oil and dip powder! I swear by Candi’s skin care. And the dip powder gives my nails the strength to grow and not break 🙌🏼
Thanks so much for doing this video I hear all about peel base in all the fb groups but never knew what it was for I’m a newbie but love dipping now started during Covid-19 like a lot of us and now just love to learn about doing my nails can you do a video on how to work with monomer? That’s again!
Welcome to our little nail community! 🤗💕 I definitely plan to try out monomer and acrylic in the future. I actually just started to dive into gels so I’m really enjoying them! Trying to figure out one hobby at a time 🤣🙈 thank you so much for watching!!
@SipAndDip There are a lot of different ones, but I think Saviland has one of the good ones. Do users of peel base have to use your method with the clear powder, or can we do something else?
Hey Dee! I actually don't have any favs since I dip on my natural nails. BUT I know that you can use your step 1 of dip powder liquids to attach fake tips! I do plan to film a mani with fake tips this summer though!
I just started using peel base. I am doing it over clear powder. I tried one layer of peel base and it didn’t work. So now I tried two. Let’s see how it works. ! Ty for these tips
When you do the clear do you do a layer of top coat on top of the clear too? That might help with pop off if you’re not already doing that 💕 I’d love to hear how it goes with the added layer!
This is very helpful. I do have one question. What do I do if my peel base never dries? It was sticky and glossy for more than 30 minutes before I gave up and just washed it off.
Susan Riddick so sorry I didn’t mention that 🙈 I would say about 4-5 days is when I start to get lifting! But as you can see, some nails come off faster than others. And glitter seems to hold on a little longer 😉 it can fluctuate a few days give or take!
This was SO helpful! I have struggled for way too long trying to grow my nat nails, I have had a few friends say that dip powder is great for this. Can you suggest a good clear dip that isn't crazy expensive? TFS!!!
gina rose hey Gina!! I am so glad you found it helpful 🙌🏼 for an inexpensive clear I would say Revel is a great place to start. They have a rewards program so you can use points to knock down your total 💕
I want my nails to last 1 week as I can do them every weekend, without having to spend hours on the removal 🤦🏻♀️ could this work for me? I don’t really want to be redoing them every few evenings! Xx
Hey Saira! You could absolutely try peel base out for easy change ups! Unfortunately mine pop off within 1-5 days. BUT! You could do a layer of clear or builder gel on your natural nails, then peel base on top in case they pop off too soon 💕
Carole Annette lolllll! You’re awesome! You need to post up your collection!! I could easily buy 100 lol 😂 I wish I could find military wife! Do you have any you’d love to have?
Do you have to put a bond on top of the unt before your base coat for dip? Do you still use dehydrator? Thx one last thing, do you think using cuticle oil would affect the longevity also?
I do still dehydrate my nail my nails and follow my normal prep routine. I like to apply a layer of my dip base liquid on top of the peel base, let that dry, then dip. It’s completely optional but I feel like it gives me a smoother first layer for dipping. Cuticle oil can definitely affect the longevity with peel base. Exposure to water and oil can make the nails pop off/lift faster with peel base. Hope this helps! 💗
I currently have 3 different brands of peel base ( Virgo & gem, UNT, and sparkle and co - Marla scared me on s&p lol) and haven’t used any yet but that will change soon 😆 do you suggest trying it with the clear dip 1st or should I try an natural nail 1st?
Hi Kristy!! Honestly you can do either! Totally personal preference 💗 if you have longer nails and you’re worried about the dip popping off too early and want to still have something protecting your natural nails, I would try clear! If you have short nails and you’re not too worried about having something protecting your natural nails if the dip pops off early, I would apply the peel base directly on your nail. I opt to not use clear because I don’t really want to fuss with fills and soak offs. I also don’t care for the extra bulk. But totally personal preference on what you need on strength 💗 sorry for the long winded answer 😆
I did that I pried the nail on my pinky and it was Arylic and I ripped my natural nail right in the middle of my free edge half way up on one side and I feel like a idiot because I felt the tension and I pulled it up anyway 🙃
Oh nooo ouch!! 😮💨 we’ve all been there!! I did the same thing when I dabbled in builder gel. I put peel base on top of builder gel and then dip powder. I ended up ripping up the dip powder and my natural nail separated from my nail bed 😅
I have just put Mani Q with keratin on my natural nails and then I do the pop off method with foil glue 2coats and then a matte top coat or non wipe top coat
Ristina Durivage exactly! So washing your hands, swimming, having oily nail beds, so many things go into how long your nails can last. And using peel base can definitely cut down on the longevity on your nails, drastically. But for each person it can be totally different!
Hello! Great video! The only thing I don’t know, is once I’ve popped off the polish or dip powder, how do I prep for the next round? Is the peel base still on there and I just go right to painting or dipping again? Or do I need to reapply?
Hey Tamara! So after you “pop” them off, I like to prep like my normal application again. So reshape if needed, push back cuticles, dehydrate the nail and apply peel base. Once you pop off the dip powder it will also take off the peel base so it will need to be reapplied. Sometimes there can also be left over dip powder product on your nail too so you may have to clean that up 💗 hope this helps!
Thank you so much! I’m new at this. I just now accidentally put on activator before I put the last coat of clear dip powder. Can I still put that on and then use activator again?
@@tamarajones2009 yes! Just be careful to not contaminate your liquids. So let it dry for 2-3 minutes. Then wipe your nail with a dry lint free wipe or napkin to make sure there is no leftover activator reside ☺️ then you’re good to keep dipping! 💗
@@SipAndDip I may have misunderstood but I thought there was a link to the process of doing the clear layer under peel base. I’m sorry if I misunderstood. I’m learning so much from your videos! Thanks for sharing m!
@@mouseketeer606 I really need to film this! 😆 I actually have tried it a few times but still trying to find what I like the most. I would suggest if you do clear under peel base, to still do a top coat on the clear. I have tried it so far with no top coat and I had trouble getting the peel base to pop off properly. So the steps would be - Clear dip powder layers Activator File/buff Activator Top coat twice Peel base (let dry) Dip base + color process
@@SipAndDip I’ll definitely follow your directions. I’ve tried it with no top coat and let me tell you-it don’t budge! Lol. I’m a new dipper & want to change my mani more often but my first few dips lasted 3 weeks +. A good thing but I need to perfect my technique. Thanks for the tips!
@@mouseketeer606 SO MUCH YESSS 👏🏼 this happened to me too!!! I buffed it suuuuper smooth too and it wasn’t moving 😅 so next time I plan to try with the top coat. I’d love to hear how it goes for you after you try! 🫶🏻
