I had a problem with my Samsung 28 cublic fridge not able to connect to the wifi while configuring with smarthings app. I changed the wifi name to remove the special caracter " - " that i had in the name , that did not help. I removed the password from the WIFI and the fridge connected I then reliase it did not like something in the password I removed the special character % i had in my password and only used numbers and letters and it connected successfully. I actually returned it to the name with the "-" as that was not the problem. Hope this helps someone. What works for me on ADSL router - uPnp enabled , wifi password only letters and numbers
I had the same problem when I scanned the QR code and selected scan for device. It finally connected when I opted to connect through the category section on the app. I was trying to connect my fridge so I selected the Refrigerater category and then just followed instructions.
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ru-vid.comUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
I love the fact you have spoken about Samsung Smart things. However, I cannot find ANYTHING on the net that will explain how to get a modern Samsung Smart Q95 TV universal remote to work with home theatre sound situated in a cupboard or out of sight. Volume cannot be controlled through optical out on the TV, ONLY on the stereo. I want to know if the universal remote that comes with the TV can be programmed to control the volume on the home theater device? Grateful for any help from anyone out there.
make sure you plug your home theater into your TV in the HDMI ARC (Anynet+) port, that will allow the TV remote commands to be forwarded to the home theater system. You don't need to only connect the HDMI, you can (and should) still connect the optical cable as well. This is how I've got it to work on my setup, hope I helped
I cannot connect any of my android Samsung phones to my Samsung Q66T soundbar with SmartThings app. It never makes me the owner of the soundbar it is just stuck with saying “press volume down”. Never works.
Does Samsung SmartThings work with Samsung M series phones ? Like M31, M30s... F41 ? This app is not available in the play Store for these mentioned devices.
tried this app out. thought I'd turned up the heating, dimmed the lights and put some "soft music on low" but when I pulled up with a chick all the lights in the house were flashing, rock music was playing loud, the garage door was wide open and my lawnmower had been stolen. she thought it was hilarious and I got laid so i rate this app 10/10
hi! I have a 2 gang light switch, but in the smarthings app, it appears like a "thing", and I can do nothing with it! can You help me how to solve this? thanks!
So if I have google assistant connected to smart things, but none of the devices connected to smart things are compatible with Google, am I just screwed?
It also throws me a notification that says my earbuds arent registered to my new acc which THERE ISN'T AN OPTION TO ADD THEM!!! will you guys help me?????
Every time I click on my TV it works for a second then goes back to the main page on smart things... it keeps doing that and I've tried everything. Idk what to do
Samsung's greatest crime is killing SmartView. It's the only thing that had one simple task that it did excellently that I didn't know i needed till I discovered it. I have a large film collection on my hard drives that I can load 200 of at a time on SmartView for streaming to my Samsung TV. And voila!! You can leave your computer alone and control the movies just using the Samsung remote control that has its own mouse-like cursor!!
Here is my deal- I added the SmartThings app because I have 2 TVs in my living room (watch a LOT of sports). My little TV was a Sharp Aquos that I've had forever and there wasn't a damn thing wrong with it but it kept telling itself that it had a failure. I got tired of continuously having to go through the long process of clearing the error to make the TV work again so I bought a new little TV. I bought a Samsung. UH OH!!! My BIG TV is a Samsung so any input on a remote effects BOTH TVs. At first SmartThings worked to control my little TV. Now? The app will find my TV fine and shows it available but won't add it. Pure junk!
My smartthings smarthome is ALWAYS problematic- sensors lose connection, or stop working entirely for the most part. Some sensors defective out of the box! On the other hand, my HUE devices (granted only sensors and lights) work FLAWLESSLY. It's a shame the Smartthings people (whomever owns them now) can't get their sh#t straight. I often want to just toss the whole system and start fresh. I ONLY need sensors(motion, door/window) and lights- to alert me of activity- too much to ask?
I think it would have been better if Samsung just brought back the IR blaster and you can turn it on turn it off change the channel using your smartphone but if the TV that you have is not a smart device but it's a business TV it will not work I should know I've tried this many times when I compare it to my Huawei p30 pro and has a built-in IR blaster which is way better and I can control everything that I've owned just by using that but Samsung is overrated and it doesn't work the way you tell us it works either you have one that has something special in it or not or you have to go out and purchase another TV to even be compatible to it not too many people is willing to go out and purchase another TV when they just went to Walmart or went somewhere else and got a good deal on their TV so you got to be respected enough not to even bring something like this up cuz it doesn't work for all
How about using a car to get somewhere... are those people lazy because they don't want to walk. It's progress. Go whine about your non-existent finances and jealousy somewhere else.
