Correction- the extra sleeve is NOT for taking the valve off the pipe. It is merely a trim piece to hide the end of the valve & make it look professional & uniform. There are many other tools & gadgets out there to remove valves from pipes.
What is the measurment you're using at your line, for this valve? I looked at the chart and it said 15/16 in, but your line doesn't look like its that far from the end of the water line.
Hi, question. I had to replace my shutoff valve. When I took of the old compression sleeve, new one didn't fit because the old ring made the pipe a bit thinner. So I googled and found Sharkbite shutoff valve and installed. My question is, after installed, if I leave it just as is then it's no problem, no leak. But if I grab it and twist then water is coming out from somewhere. Is this normal?
no, it is not normal, it shouldn't leak when you twist the valve. I think there is some grooves on the water pipe, the rubber seal is not fully sealed. so when you twist it, water leaks. if it is a DIY, leave it, buy a water leak sensor. If it was done by a professional , call back and fix it.
