Bill, I'm wondering why you're using cone 5 clay as slip but with a high-fire kiln temp. How does the cone 5 slip react when fired to cone 9-10? Is there downward movement of the slip? Can you show some finished pieces after firing please? Thanks for your sharing.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing as Chris, why not b mix 10?

Made a flashing slip 666 tile slip. I dipped 4 bowls and 2 disintegrated. Would that happen because the clay was not wet enough or too wet? Seemed right for trimming

I'm new to pottery making so this might seem a silly question observation. You state that this is a B-mix white slip that you are using. What kind of clay is the pot? Can any slip (if they are equal in cone temp) be used over other clays? Say if I used a cone 5 speckled clay then could I use the b-mix as a dipping slip? Love your videos! Thanks

Yes… using different colored clay will work. My brown stoneware (cone 9-10) is being slipped here with a cone 5 white clay slip. It will get covered with a high temp glaze & fired with no slip movement.

Hi just wanted to know why cone 5 bmix- does it shrink better?

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. I use BMix10 and fire to cone 10. Want to try with BMix10 slip as well.

Hi. Kove your work. Can you tell me what us the translation for slip in Spanish. I'm from Argentina. Thanks.

Sandra… slip is simply a different colored clay that’s watered down to be like cream consistency.

What is the name of this material in which the pottery is immersed

امجد الحسيني الحسيني it is called slip. When you out the handle onto a coffee mug only it is thinner. You use it to decorate before the clay completely dries and is fired. Si vous parlez francaise sa pelle
