As someone who has no theory knowledge it’s good to find that there is a term used for exactly this, I find a good one on guitar is going from E to C but with the added bass note of a G before the lower C. If you have time look up “Somewhere a Star Shines For Everyone” by Howard Blake. Am I right in thinking technically the same type of shift happens just before the singing starts? The way it blends from C# to F gives me goosebumps!

So yeah, I love God chords. I just opened up FL Studio and decided to try to replicate your intro demo. (not note for note, my own version of course) and then go off and try to make a whole song out of it, like a score for a badly written Star Trek rip off. It was pretty fun but it started to make me mad after a while because I wanted to have some sense of resolution, a little tension and release. But I could NEVER EVER GET to where I could start rotating through a certain progression and start looping so I could write some repeating melodies and harmonies and....shit piss.... gaddamnit after like 12 chords I was just like "fuck it" Im gonna go through the whole damn cirlce of 5ths before I get back home and so I had to use a few diatonic non-God harmonies eventually....but I think He will forgive me...wink wink 😃😉(theological pun fully intended).... I also found myself in trouble...well no... in DEEP SHIT in terms of a recognizable melody. I kept having to resolve phrases on an unexpected note which was actually quite fun really..., but it seems, like yourself, I kept screwing with the tri-tone and everything sounded Lydian with that sharp 4. Kinda neat but eventually it just got stupid-complex and I started to loop a few chords back and forth to get some melodies injected into the damn song. Fun stuff. Cheers!
