Thank you! I’ve struggled at times trying to use the app and what I can see from the scope.. this looks like a great hack!

found your channel really helpful. Subscribed! I am a beginner and i find it really hard to locate DSOs using straight through finderscope on my 8 inch dob. Thanks for this wonderful tip. Will try this out!

Hello Irfan, thank you for your support my friend, really pleased to hear my videos are helping you. Yes, you can get very disorientated at the eyepiece when everthing is up-side down and back to front...I use this metod for finding DSO's all the time, it really helps. Take care, clear skies :)

I remember trying to find Pleiades by moving the telescope randomly in Taurus. Time to forgot.

Unfortunately, the instrument feature is locked in the free version of Stellarium and I'm too cheap/broke to buy the pro version (Ahhh...the joys of being a parent...lol). So, I can't get to try your tip. That sucks.

Couldn't agree more! Stellarium is the omly app (Planetarium) you need in my opinion.

It’s best feature is, to me, the possibility to “pilot” your telescope! Simply fantastic!

@@pspaces Yes! Stellarium is full of awsome features. Still can't believe the software for your PC is still FREE! And it's even better than the app. Hats off to the developers.

I agree! I got to write to the developer Fabien Chéreau several times and he always responds by listening to your suggestions!

Hello Najrul. Not at all friend... You can buy my telescope which is a Skywatcher 130M on a EQ2 mount for a little as 20,241.40 Rupee $270. If you shop around you can find them even cheaper. Hope this helps :)

Hi I just came across your video on the mobile Stellarium app, I have it installed on my phone as well and I have found the when I am in program I have to scroll the map around manually it wont populate to the direction I am facing by itself as with the compass. My phone has all the sensors in it, so is this normal or is there a setting I have not found yet? Cheers Robert Aust'

Hello Robert, I know the function you are talking about and I don't think stellarium has it. Try an app called SKYVIEW as I know that definitely has that feature. Hope this helps 🙂 play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.t11.skyview

There’s a small icon of a cellphone in the menu. Just click it.

@toofusnook, I have searched the program and I cant find anything that looks like a phone. there is a small compass icon at the bottom that I did not notice before, so I gave it a press and worked. Cheers Robert

Can you use this app where there is no cell phone service.
@smalloptics753
@smalloptics753 3 года назад
Hello brian, I think so yes, you can input your location manually, I've never actually used it without a service so I am not 100% sure. I would just download the free version first to double check.
