Having the confidence, or even the idea to miss notes out, although simple is a huge step in thinking about what to play! I think Rick Graham misses maybe fiths? out of some of his arpeggios. Doing this makes the act of string skipping practical. Excellent advise I've learnt something new today! And I feel a little embarrassed that I'd not thought of it myself!
OMfreakin'G, your TONE! I know you probably created that solo at the beginning simply as a way to demonstrate string skipping, but damn, that was beautiful. Subscribed.
Always great to go back to string skipping. I remember those Paul Gilbert video lessons. Love those but I’d like to now try them using the hybrid picking technique. Still new to it and it makes playing exciting again. Thanks for these lessons! I appreciate you and your talents/gifts! 🙏🏼🤘🏼🎸
Thank you Jack for that lesson! I like so much string skipping.. But it needs an excellent fretboard visualisation and knowledge of context scale and arpeggios to make it fluent when improvising!
Would love to see a video about how to convincingly conclude lines/licks. I often find my lines are strong until the end where they seem to fizzle out... cheers!
