Part of the answer to that question is the same reason why someone would want chocolate over vanilla: preference. The other part of the answer is the mismatch of needs. If the point of the video were to declare which was the best course platform then the answer right now would be Thrive Apprentice. But that wasn't the point. This presentation was framed from the perspective that some people don't need or want a complete course solution. They just want to sell a couple videos as lead magnets or a workshop, or they want a super simple course presentation on one single page with a playlist. Half or more of the people that I work with do not want to use a complete course platform and go through the effort of setting up "templates" and building user login setup, etc. They don't want to have to connect their shopping cart tool to another tool with webhooks, or api keys, or set up what happens when someone cancels with an automation or a workflow. They want something lightweight and quick to set up.
