Important. Make sure the Atem kit is set to 'line' or 'mic' (in settings). You need 'line' if inputting from the church audio mixer. Thanks for making the tutorial - I am sure churches will find it useful. David

I have that already set up already playing to facebook. But when I put it to zoom it plays thru zoom with audio. I don't see the picture on the Blackmagic screen as I did before. Is it still going to face book still. Even if the pictures is on zoom screen.?

Does the ATEM mini pro allow me to do a hybrid recording and save it to my external usb-c drive? For example I will record my cuts locally and have a zoom video feed call as well?

Very helpful video. I am just getting started (Atem Extreme ISO is on order) and I have a slightly odd question. I am trying to set up a fully hybrid Zoom meeting (in house as well as zoom) The in house is an auditorium with about 125 persons, so that requires powered speakers. I also want to feed video and audio to my zoom audience. I do have 4 wireless mics going through a Behringer 1204USB mixer as well as 2 4K video cameras with HDMI out (currently. More to come) I am planning on using a aux out from the mixer to go into the ATEM, but where should I get the signal for my room speakers? I have been using the XLR out from the mixer, but then I don't have any control over them with the ATEM. As I'm sure you can tell, I am very new at this. Thank you.

Great videos! If we're just using the ATEM Mini Pro Iso (not extreme), since it only has 1 usb output, how can we record to an external harddrive while simultaneously outputting the ATEMs output as a webcam via the one usb-c?
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup Год назад
Thank you. Short answer, you can't. You would need the extreme with its double USB ports to do that. The only other way would be to record on whichever device you're using for the USB connection. So, if you're using ZOom for instance, you can record the Zoom meeting. But you need that USB port free to use the ATEM's recording feature.

@@ChurchSetup Thanks for the fast response! Ahh, that would defeat the purpose of the ISO recording each input separately. Thanks for letting me know. Alternatively, would using the USB c hub that has an hdmi out and another usb c out on it do the trick? (I use it originally on my laptop for another hdmi monitor.)

I am using Atem extreme for church and that’s what I am using as my stream encoder also. How do I get the zoom audio from the computer to the church audience and don’t have a feedback allowing the person on zoom not to hear themselves coming back through the audience microphone? Please note that the mixer I am using is a normal analog mixing console.

He answered it above with the @clester7837 question. I will add a little more explanation to his. The mixer's output audio that you are tapping off of for your Zoom PC needs to be pretty sophisticated; it must allow you to select which mixer audio sources that are sent to this output. So, you can't just use Tape Out as a mixer output, because Tape Out will just send every source. You are trying to shut off the specific Zoom-out-to-Mixer-in channel so that the mixer's output audio never contains that specific mixer channel. Zoom audio will still work two-way because Zoom allows everyone to hear that Zoom user, and you will allow everyone to hear that Zoom user on your Zoom PC input channel.

Can you help me with this question. I use Atem mini pro extreme ISO and I have connected Camera1 (BMPCC6K) to HDMI1 input on Atem, Macbook pro to HDMI2 input and USBc also to macbook. My Microphone is connected to Camera1. I attend Zoom calls and I record all inputs however the sound of the guest in Zoom call is not getting recorded to ATEM. I connect headphone to macbook to hear the guest, but I can't get their audio in audio and video files for HDMI1 or HDMI2. Can you help me understand how can I get the audio of the guest in zoom or another conference app on to ATEM recording.
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup Год назад
Hey there. So, the problem is with your Macbook sounds settings. You are telling Zoom to send your sound to your macbook, so you can use your headphones. However, for the ATEM to hear the sound, it must be sent using the HDMI connection. You will need to switch your Zoom speakers to be set to the ATEM Mini. Of course, then you won't be able to hear your guest from your headphones because there is no headphone out on the ATEM. To solve for this, I recommend connecting your MAC to an external mixer. Then, you can tell Zoom to use that mixer for your "speakers." Then, you can connect that mixer's output to your MIC1 on the ATEM, and also use the mixer's headphone output to hear your guest. The Mackie Mix5 would work perfect for this around $50. Hope that makes sense.

How are you getting audio from your zoom guest back to your system to be able to listen?
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup 7 месяцев назад
So this video assumes you're using Zoom as a single user. The audio from Zoom will go to whatever speaker or headphone system you are currently using. The ATEM is only an "input" device for Zoom - either Video Only, or Video & Audio. It you are asking for like a Hybrid Event, where you have an audience that needs to hear from Zoom attendees, that will require another piece of hardware with a mix-minus feature to ensure a feedback loop doesn't happen. The Rodecaster Pro II, for example.

Hi there. The USB connection is one way, meaning your computer can receive from the ATEM but not the other way around. To connect the computer to the ATEM as a source, you will need to do that over HDMI into one of the 4 input sources. Hope that helps.

Given that you have a Rodecaster Pro, would you use the RCA sendouts on the back, with a merge to a 3.5mm jack going into the ATEM Mini (mic)?
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup 2 года назад
Hi Mark, Actually, if I was using the ATEM Mini Pro to encode, and I wanted to use the Rodecaster, I would probably come out of the main outputs -- maybe just the left output and mono input into the ATEM 3.5mm. So I would need a 1/4" to 3.mm adapter. But, since we're using the Mac software Ecamm in our studio (connecting the ATEM over USB), I use the USB connection to the Mac for audio and bypass the ATEM entirely (for audio). However, in a church environment, most people are using the ATEM Mini Pro as the encoder rather than a streaming PC and software. In that case, running the audio into the ATEM is the right choice. Hope that makes sense.

hey man, one question, if the audio from my mixer i'm getting from usb soundcard, will i be able to just do the usual where i just choose my usb device from zoom's audio setting? i'm guessing it's fine but just to make sure
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup 2 года назад
Yep, exactly. If you already have a sound interface directly on the computer, using it is fine. If you have audio syncing problems in Zoom, then I might consider running both sound and video through the ATEM. But doing it the other way is probably just fine in most cases.
@codyhartt7022
@codyhartt7022 Год назад
when you use the cameras to the ATEM does it take the load off of the computer and does all the processing. We will be sending it via USB C to Macbook Pro for our zoom classes. Currently we have multiple cameras to elgato cards to USB c adapter to macbook pro.
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup Год назад
Yes it does. Bringing in multiple cameras through USB capture cards taxes the system, especially when they are 4K signals coming in. Using the ATEM means the computer only has to process a single camera feed, and that will be at 1080p as well. So you should see the heavy lifting of processing go to the ATEM and not the computer. However, when you start streaming or recording on the computer, that _encoding_ workload will still be on your CPU and GPU.

I like your presentation and I am hoping you can help me with my question. I am using the atem mini pro with zoom at my church which works well for broadcasting but my problem is when bringing in someone on zoom to take part in the church service the audio will feed back in zoom, how do I prevent the audio from feeding back into zoom. The atem mini pro is getting the audio from a beringer 32 which also provides audio to the in house congregation. My Setup is the same as you describe.
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup 2 года назад
What you're describing is called Mix-Minus. The audio going into Zoom needs to "minus out" the audio coming out of Zoom. You can do this inside the X-32 by removing the audio channel that brings Zoom into the board from the audio channel that goes out to Zoom.

If you connect the output (i.e. aux) from the mixer to the mic1 input, what can you do about the remote user audio being played from the church loudspeakers and feedbacking through the mic ?
@ChurchSetup
@ChurchSetup Год назад
Great question! You have to do a mix-minus. So, for the auxilliary group or sub-mix, you would need to make sure that the Zoom channel from the computer does NOT feed into the ATEM's sub-mix. That way, the room can hear Zoom, and Zoom can hear Zoom, but the ATEM cannot hear Zoom - no feedback. Hope that makes sense.

The ATEM Mini PRO can record and live stream at the same time. However, if you're using it with ZOOM, you're taking up the ATEM Mini Pro's single USB port to connect to the computer. Thus, it won't be able to record to an SSD. You can upgrade to the ATEM Mini Extreme that has 2 usb ports, one for the Zoom machine and another for the external SSD to record. Otherwise, like Bernie said, you can just use the Zoom recording.
