This video should be removed as encouraging something that is HARMFUL for babies. Proved by science by the way. There’s always other options mamas. I know sleep deprivation is hard but there is other options. That is child abandonment and it traumatizes the babies. They don’t learn to sleep, they GIVE UP because it is too stressful to always wait for mom but she never comes. Their body turns off. That’s what happens.
Thank you!! Agree 200%. Studies showed that their cortisol levels remain high for hours even when they are not crying anymore (i.e. stop signaling to their caretaker), they are still distressed. You can't teach your child at such an early age "don't bother crying for help, nobody's coming" and expect them to grow up having a different belief later in life.
You just go on with this method. We don't always expect the baby to be calm after your quick visit. Most of the time, they'll continue crying, but at least they know you're there
What do you do if your baby stops crying within the set time frame of 3 minutes? Do you stop the timer and then start for the 5 minute when they cry? Or do you still go check in after the 3 minutes if they aren’t crying and start the 5 min?
