I searched for how to change gears and played this video last, after watching videos from top bike channels. I must say she made more sense than those established pros.
@@gabrielmarkeles910 Thank you for the comment, First, this is not a Walmart bicycle and if it was a Walmart bicycle who cares. I have many videos with many different types of bicycles so in this video this is the bicycle o choose. Thank you and have a wonderful day
Peace Village, FACTS! I too have watched quiet a few how to videos ,even experienced Bike shop Pros and MA is! just simple and clear, down to earth real People. I got about to 2 mins into the vid and said ,"SiS just is getting the instructions out in a non-techie understandable way. Great Video by BadAss Diva
Perfect, larger gears when going downhill, smaller gears when going uphill, and middle gears on flat road. (2:35) Helps me out a ton. Been looking for this information. Thanks.
My mum wanted me to comment to let you know this was the most helpful video on RU-vid. She’s 55 with her first bike since her 20’s and feel more confident now!
I watched several videos on gear shifting made by so-called Pros that didn't answer any of my questions. She answered all my questions and demonstrated how gear shifting works better than the pros. Thank you so much.🚴🏾♀️
I'm 60 l have just bought a RALEIGH mountain bike , to keep fit and get out the house more , Which is the best Gear to have for going up a very steep bank.🚲, loved your video
Thanks so much for this video. I just bought a 21gear bike. Haven’t rode since I was a teenager. I was very confused with how to use the gears. This video was very helpful!
This is the same for me! My bike is 35 years old, I got it when my kids were younger so we could go out for bike rides and I've not used it since, now I'm 66 and couldn't remember how to work the gears! This video is the best one I found to explain how to use the gears. I hope you enjoy using your bike.
What a straight to the point video for shifting gears. Just purchased a Liv a bike and I couldn’t even find a good video for shifting until I came across yours. Greatly appreciated and to the point.
Rode my bike today for the first time in 25yrs. I was shaky and terrified. Had no idea how to change gears; I think it was in hill climbing mode after being serviced. Now I found your wonderful video. By the way, my bike is Specialized Hardrock.
My boyfriend bought me a mountain bike for Christmas and tasked me with learning about gears for safe riding. He sent me a few videos from “professionals” and none were helpful. Glad it only took me watching three unhelpful videos until I found yours! Thanks so much! I’ve saved it to re-watch as I am a beginner. Also looking to burn some fat and strengthen my legs.
Great video. Thank you so much for your simple and easy to understand instructions. Just bought a bike today and had no idea how to adjust the gears. It’s been over 15 years since I’ve been on a bike so I need all the help I can get!
I have seen like a ton of videos over the years on how to shift gears. Nothing stuck, there was some amount of confusion every time. Your video has been extremely helpful. Thanks a lot! My sister has started riding her geared bike and I shared this video. Cheers!!
*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
Like others, I searched for this information in professional mtb channels and their instructions were inadequate. Thank you so much for this presentation. I feel so much more prepared.
BEST VIDEO ON RU-vid EXPLAINING THE BIKE GEARS ON RU-vid HANDS DOWN!!!! Very easy and detailed for the beginners ! Thank you very much for uploading this video helped me a lot and Infact I learned from that video better than any other guide !
I agree with you 100%! I have a looked at several videos thus far in order to understand how to properly use the gears and this is the FIRST and BY FAR THE BEST video that really explained the gears - including how to count the chain rings and how the numbers correspond with the gears on the handle bars.
You are such a good teacher that I understood every point and honestly think you have the best explanation on how to change bicycle's gear on RU-vid. Thanks
Most bikers who make videos are techies who like long boring technical explanations ( sometimes necessary) but this is a great video that imparts a lot basic information. I have riding a bike for sometime but I leaned quite a bit about the best gear range.THANKS
Thank you very much for this simple yet very detailed tutorial on how the gears work on a mountain bike, I just brought a bike for myself for exercise and to strengthen my legs, as I was in a serious accident in 2017 which left my legs severely damaged. Thanks again.
It's usually small ring for steep hills, middle ring for gradual hills, flat and pulling off the lights, outer ring for flat and downhill, though to be honest some hills you can just coast down, leaving it in a low gear for the bottom. Of course it's somewhat dependent on the choice of gearing on the bike.
I just bought a bike to get myself around since I don't have a car right now. I came here for some beginners advice & definitely learned about about how the gears work on both handles & about the chain etc. Thank you very much for the great tips.
Thank you so very much for this clear, concise, and unpretentious explanation! I viewed so many videos on this topic and came away more confused than when I started. Your approach and explanation made everything understandable.
First of all I love your accent and despite of it you speak very good English and this helps a lot I’ve been riding bikes since I was a kid and I’m 27 years old and never fully understood the concept of the gears and the correct way to ride until now thank you
You may not be a professional but you explained that more clearly for a beginner than any of the numerous other videos I watched by professionals. Thank you! Question, I am trying to figure out the best gear to have my bike in while riding on the road with various pitches but I cannot figure out the best gear and my legs are on fire by the time I'm done & very sore the next day. Can you please help trying to explain to me what the best gear should feel like? Is that even possible to explain? I feel like I am dying riding my bike while my partner is not breaking a sweat or getting any kind of work out at all.
Hi, Thank you for watching the video. My opinion is that the feeling of the legs on fire is totally normal. The more you go for a ride the less pain you are going feel. The good thing about this particular pain is that this is a good pain to have. One thing that definitely may help you lessen the pain is stretching your legs before and after you ride your bike. In regards to your partner ........your partner may not be braking a sweat but your partner is for sure getting a workout. Hope this help. Thank you. Have a nice day and stay safe
Best video on bicycle gears! All others talk bs about cadence & crap. As a beginner, I don't care about all that. This video was really helpful. Thank you! God bless!
Thanks for a great video explaining how to use the gears. I just watched another one from two professional cyclists and they never explained it as well as you did. Thank you so much xx
The last person I watched never said when the gears are changed, its for going up and down hill and what the number's mean. They said change as you pedal nothing more than that. You've helped quite a lot as its helped me understand more on the numbers and when you change up/down. Thank you.
This information is golden for a new learner like me, so thank you so much. Like others have indicated, I have not come across detailed gear information. Now I'm looking for one on how to locate pedals without looking at them. This is something that doesn't come naturally to me.
Absolutely amazing explanation BadAss Diva. I bought a bike to get fit but I have been nervous as the gear change system has been extremely complex. I came onto RU-vid to try and find someone that makes simple logical sense and the gear system. I have, and I sure many others have watched many youtube videos but you explain the bike gears far better than those videos where some professional cyclist trys to explain. I have the absolute pleasure in subscribing to your RU-vid channel. Big Respect from UK< England. Brighton. THANK YOU!!!
I just bought a new bike and went from 3 gears and a basket to over 20. I needed some help from a badass diva to understand how the gears work. Thanks for making this video! I found it super helpful 🦸🏽♀️
Hi! Thanks for getting back to me. I took the knowledge from your video (which really helped) and took the bike out a few times for practice. I think I’m down with the gears now.
Exact vid I was looking for i don't have a professional bike and althea RU-vid videos only talk about the professional bikes! Thanks so much explained what I needed to know perfectly
Thank you so much you helped me with a lot of questions because my neighbor just gave me a free bike with a Gear Shift Max set and I was really confused on how to use the gears but know you just answered them all.
Thank you for explaining how to use my first geared bike, will definitely need to ride it more and get used to towing my son and his little trailer behind me. It’s tough when you don’t know how to use a geared bike.
Wow! This was so thorough and simplistic. I better understand my gears now. Thank you and that was an excellent demonstration on relaxing your body while riding. 🌸
Thank you for this explanation! I have been looking for days for a simple explanation about what gear I should be in. This helped so much. Thanks, Diva!
To start driving on a flat road, which gear should I put on the right and on the left? Can you explain how to break safely? Should I use the back break only to avoid flipping over or what should I do. Thank you so much.
