Liverpool Douglas Manannan Ferry Steam-Packet Isle of Man TTraces If you've never been to the Isle of Man and would like to know how getting the ferry from Liverpool works then this is the video for you. Also getting back the other way.
Really useful video for those that haven't been before. A dry run before the actual TT is a great way to familiarise yourself with the ferry and the Isle before the madness of it all. It's awesome either way.
Useful preparation video for the first timers. Nice and quiet ferry on this trip, contrasting massively with the crowds queueing during TT period. Adds to the pressure when you're surrounded by hundreds of other bikes jostling for position, often overnight in the rain, lol. Be prepared for a long wait on the quayside, all part of the fun. Fantastic when you get to the island, though, well worth it.
If you end up in a heap, you wont be the 1st or the last,. good advice here, like you say drag back brake when turning and treat all surfaces as if they were black ice, its a bit of a nightmare for most riders, tippy toed sports bikes pilots with vertically challenged riders beware,. IOM love it !
What no petrol theft and slinging your bike on with a crane? Ee lad it not like it use to be but then you did have big shed to shelter in when it was raining. 1977 first time and only a couple of ferries (out of 5 off) still used cranes.
