if you ctrl+right click, you can bring up a different set of map tools which will give you exact bearings and ranges to things if you want. Also, another skill which to it's credit the vanilla arma tutorial sort of attempts to teach you are back bearings and triangulation. it sounds hard but it's really not. a back bearing is the bearing that would show up *towards* you *from* a point you're looking at, all you have to do is aim your compass at the point and get the bearing normally. if it is LESS THAN 180 ADD 180. if it is MORE THAN 180 SUBTRACT 180. This is useful if you're lost and the "get coordinates" script either doesn't exist or is on cooldown, all you need is to get the back bearing from any two points you can find on the map, a small hill, building or distinctive bend in a river. draw a straight line from each point along it's back bearing, and wherever the two lines meet will be your position. This can also work in reverse, if you and another person sufficiently far away have known positions, you can ask them for their normal bearing to the target and get your own, wherever the two lines meet will be the exact position of the target if you would like to call an artillery strike or make accurate callouts
@@willowsayswhat9642 I don't think I'm using the extended modpack, I only use the one posted in discord plus tfar animations and better inventory added manually and I still get the ctrl+right click menu
