I’m so glad that I found your video. I really appreciate how thorough you were in explaining application of the products and why. New subbie! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
You are very welcome! And thanks for subbing. I can recommend the following playlist: The Ordinary Skincare Example Routines: ru-vid.com/group/PLEZmBwdHv3M9FL24fPnm7yKbb9TBfLIM5
Hi Melissa , please can you guide of how to use The ordinary argeline + The ordinary Retinol in squalene + one thing niacinamide in the PM routine?? Thanks ❤
Well, you can, but as explained in the video, they serve a similar purpose and some ingredients are the same. So, you would just use either one of them or alternate.
Thank you so much for a brilliant tutorial, really informative, loved it! Can I incorporate The ordinary amino b5 together with this, or somehow in my regimen pm/am or different days of the week? Thank you Kindly /Malin
Hey! :) Thank you!🥰 Keep them in separate routines or do not use them on top of each other (depending on where you want to apply TO Argireline Solution) :)
Hi Melissa! Love your videos! ❤I was wondering if you could clarify something for me. I'm using these products(argireline, matrixyl and hyaluronic acid). Is it ok to finish with a cream that contains thiamidol? Thank you 😊
Hmm, because it's slightly acidic 🤔, I'm not sure about that, but it may become an issue. However, if you leave a few minutes in between, then there shouldn't be an issue.
I always trust your advice and you always reply very quickly. I want to start my retinal journey. I plan to use geek and gorgeous retinal 0.05. Can this be layered with TO argireline and matrixyl? Thanks ❤
Hey! :) Yes, this can work. However, in the beginning, I recommend using Geek & Gorgeous Retinal on its own to see how your skin tolerates it, to reduce the chances of irritation.
Hi Melissa! Is my AM skin care routine good? - Cerave cleanser - bioma face mist - The ordinary hyaluronic acid - The ordinary niacinamide - The ordinary Argireline Solution - The ordinary Matrixyl - Neutrogena sunscreen
I think it could be too much, potentially causing layering issues or sensitivities. Please ensure to use the right cleanser for your skin type. For dry skin, use the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser. For oily skin, choose the Cerave Foaming Cleanser. After using the Cerave cleanser, consider the following routine: Bioma Face Mist or The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid The Ordinary Niacinamide or The Ordinary Argireline Solution and The Ordinary Matrixyl Finish with Neutrogena Sunscreen. Overall, I would recommend using a maximum of two serums per routine to ensure proper layering and absorption. From my experience, this approach works best.
@@belenmolina3609 As I mentioned above, keeping it simpler is the key. Basically, follow these steps: Clean your face. Pat it dry. Then, choose either the face mist or hyaluronic acid. Wait 30-60 seconds for the product to absorb (if there is any excess from the face mist, dab it off). Then apply either the Argireline Solution, Niacinamide serum, or Matrixyl. If it is morning, apply SPF. In the evening, you can do the same routine just without the SPF.
Yes, however, my suggestion would be to use these in the morning and your Retin-A on its own at night. Give it a try and see what works best for you! 😊
Hey! :) The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum already contains a blend of all those peptides, so the Argireline and Matrixyl serums aren't really needed. However, if you have already bought them, you can use them in the PM.
This one contains all of them in one serum: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bHNB21Owo8Y.htmlfeature=shared or try this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y3k4POy0290.htmlfeature=shared
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet can i choose only one product? Then which one should i go for it., between argeriline and matrixyl. Because i want to avoid retinol🥲. As i have sensitive skin. And sorry to disturb u🥰.
Hey melissa can we use argireline in this order in morning to Target freckles and aging - cleansing+ toner+ argireline+ niacinamide+ Alpha arbutin+ceramide+spf. Is it too much? Will it peel?
I'm unsure if the products will pill. Using small amounts of each serum might prevent this issue, but I think using all of them might be excessive. I would suggest using either Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, or just one of the three, and then alternating them. This approach ensures that everything is absorbed nicely into the skin without overwhelming it.
Hello Melissa; can I apply after cleansing, Argentine/matexl, hydrolonic acid and trentinoin and followed by moisturizer for night routine? And for morning everything but trentinoin replacing it with sunscreen? Pls let me know thank you
I've heard it's safe to use peptides in the same session of your skincare routine with retinol, so I'd like to use a retinol with **both** the Argireline solution and the matrixyl 3000 solution at night. For now I'm using the CeraVe resurfacing retinol serum which is known for its gentleness but id like to step up into Vichy's LiftActiv Pure Retinol Serum that has 0.2% of pure retinol soon. Do you know if layering these 3 actives together is possible? I've thought of perhaps doing Argireline > retinol > and then the matrixyl as the last step since it's summer, but idk if I perhaps should do Argireline > matrixyl > retinol for better absorption? I'm a bit confused in here, sorry for bothering you Melissa, and thank you a lot 💕
Hey! Yes, this can work. Choose the second option for layering because your peptide serums are much lighter and water-based, whereas Retinol is typically formulated in an oilier base.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you very much for explaining! 🥰 I wanted to ask too, I eventually want to step up into using tretinoin, can you layer it as well with both these serums or that would be pushing it in regards of irritation? Thank you a lot again!!
Do you recommend these serums if I won't be able to afford it long term (after 2-3 bottles)? I regularly use Tretinoin and Niacinamide, but I am really interested in checking these out if they show results as noticeable as tretinoin and niacinamide.
Well, honestly, I haven't used them for long enough periods to determine if they are truly effective for what they claim. So, from that perspective, you'll need to test them yourself. If you do decide to test them, don't forget to take pictures, and please let me know about the results! 😃
Hm... I haven't compared them side by side. However, Matrixyl and Argireline have a better texture than Buffet (at least for me), unless you would get Buffet + Copper Peptides (now Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides).
Namaste 🙏 You just got a subscriber from India 🇮🇳 ,Im a male 35 using naicinimide followed with tretnoin 0.1% & want to incorporate matrixyl 3000 pepetide but DONT KNOW HOW TO LAYER IT WITH TRETNOIN, SO IF YOU COULD HELP ME WITH THAT SHUKRIYA 🙂
Hello GADOOLI RR , Use it when not using the tretinoin. And I assume that you use tretinoin in the evening, so use Matrixyl in the morning. And welcome 🙂
Hi Melisa, this unrelated to this particular video but I wanted to ask if the Paul choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliate and The ordinary alpha Arbutin 2% can be used together or be used on separate days in different regimens?
Hlo dear can I use ordinary arglireline with timeless coenzyme q10 together. One more question can I use this both serum with alpha arbutin ordinary 🙏🏼
Melissa , I want to incorporate ordinary buffet copper peptides in my routine. would you mind sharing your thoughts if its worth incoporating , if so which product do I need to replace or can I just simply append to my current routine ? My current routine (I mean once all the products I ordered arrive lol , as of now I only use a facewash and a moisturizer thats it🤣). Anyway AM : Timeless Vitamin C + Ordinary Niacinamide/Zinc serum + Ordinary Moisturizer + Australian gold sunscreen PM : Matrixyl 3000 HA + Ordinary retinol 2% serum + LRP moisturizer
Hey again! As mentioned in the video, The Ordinary Peptides have a few conflicts, which you can find in my PowerPoint (in the description box). Do not use it with Vitamin C, nor with Retinol. So, come up with a second evening routine and alternate between them. Still, I don't think that you need it because you are already using Timeless Matrixyl :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you! I did see that presentation before asking the question its just I didnt know if Timeless vitamin c would contrdict with peptides or if its just ordinary vitamin C that contradicts but anyway now Its clear , I'll skip using the copper peptides and stick with Matrixyl! you have such a deep understanding about skincare and Its amazing how you respond to every single question/comment 😄. I've never seen any other youtuber do that and I truly hope your channel grows bigger and may be one day you launch your own skin care lineup - "Melissa's Choice" 😉
@@himalayakilaru Yes, as mentioned in the previous reply, I always keep the conflicts in mind, doesn't matter the skincare brand :) It's because I care about my viewers, and that's why I take the time to reply to comments🥰 Also, replying to comments helps me a lot to understand what you guys want to know and based on that, I can include it in my videos 😊 I do not want to sound arrogant or so, but I can't complain about my name and family name - I'm really happy with it. Retinol would be the last step. However, when combining these peptides with retinol, it often leads to sensitivities. Therefore, I suggest not using them together. But it's not wrong to do so.
Hi Melissa great video as always! I wanted to ask if my skin routine is good right now?! AM: Cerave Acne Control Cleanser (not everyday) Benton Deep green tea toner Moisturizer SPF PM: Cerave Foaming Cleanser The ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% solution (not every evening) Beauty of joseon Green tea serum 1 time a week The ordinary AHA BHA peeling solution

@@AK-do9jw I use tretinoin:) I want something calming and soothing! currently I'm using the puriro centella unscented serum and it really helped my skin heal faster
Does this combination actually work? My mom has been bothering me to get good quality products that help with wrinkles and plumping up the skin for her but there are so many products out there and I have zero clue about them. She was already using retinol but then wasn't satisfied with the slow results or lack thereof and stopped due to impatience
No, it does not penetrate deep enough for long-lasting results. Peptides are generally too large to penetrate the skin. However, the combination makes the skin look very plump as they sit on the skin's surface. This will give you a nice plumping effect during the day/night whenever you need it so that it will make a significant difference temporarily! Retinol is the best you can use. Or even better, a retinoid such as Adapalene or Tretinoin 0,05%.
I read that you can apply the two peptides at the same time by mixing one drop of matrixyl with 2 drops of argireline and applying to the specific areas of the face you want to reduce wrinkles. Is this okay? I have been using the two serums this way for several months but will switch to applying argireline, waiting 30 sec, and then applying matrixyl if the two conflict in any way. Thank you for your helpful advice. The ordinary has so many products it is hard to know where to start to build a regime.
Yes, that's acceptable. These serums do not conflict with each other; in fact, you can mix them and then apply them to your skin, or layer them. Generally, the idea behind layering is that it enables better absorption of the products. Using the lightweight formulation first allows for deeper penetration, while the heavier one stays a bit more on the surface. Practically speaking, if your skin can utilize the product, the difference may not be significant, but it certainly could be.
Can I use pyunkang yul calming moisture toner, cosrx eye cream, snail muccin essence, argireline solution and retinol together in same routine(night time)? If yes can you please suggest the order?
Well, yes, but that's a lot of products, and the ingredients likely do not penetrate well. However, the order would be: Cleanser Toner Argireline Snail Mucin Retinol Eye Cream
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much ❤️ Cleanser, essence, argireline, retinol and eyecream. Can i do this way? And should I don’t use moisturizer at the end ?
Thanks for this info as I want to try Arireline and I already have Matrixyl. I also have Marine and a mostly black tea with panthenol toner - can I fit these in somewhere?
Well the long-term benefits are questionable, but the short-term plumping effect is remarkable, therefore it may be best to use it during the day to have a nice glow/hydrated look. I mean, unless you go out in the evening ;) But I do not see any benefit in doing this. But you can, yes.
Hmm, technically, yes. However, it often irritates people's skin, causing a stinging sensation. I'm not sure why it does that; it could be a reaction or simply too much for the skin to tolerate.
First, thax for your reply,❤ so what should i use from both of them which is best one Argirline or Retinol, as i m 40 and having many laugh lines around lips also undèr eye area.

I wouldn't use any skincare products while pregnant or breastfeeding. Instead, focus on a healthy diet for you and your baby, such as reducing intake of added sugar, processed food, and fast food.
Yes, you could use it after the Argireline solution or Matrixyl, but generally, they are all water-based, so technically the order doesn't really matter. You can layer them based on what feels best on your skin.

@@gargidrawing9068 Well, as explained in the video, these peptide serums mainly offer temporary benefits and their long-term results are still somewhat questionable. Mostly, they all provide similar benefits, so from that perspective, you could use either one of them. You could even try both and alternate them in your morning and evening skincare routines. However, I personally would recommend a retinol or retinoid formulation as that may yield the best results over time! Just keep in mind that if you do these chemical peels, you may need to adjust the retinol you are using. It's better to ask the doctor or the person performing the peel for their suggestion.
@@econa9837 it is a very high % of the active ingredient; it may get into the eyes while you sweat or because of the movement irritating the eye. And also, these products were not tested on the eyelids, so who knows what happens after a while.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet just one from Amazon. Can I alternate using the Vitamin C with the peptides? Or use one In The morning and one in the evening?
@@laurenbernhard8176 The Ordinary Peptides should not be used with exfoliating acids and Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) due to the low pH, which can break down the peptides and cause loss of benefits. Therefore, it's recommended to use your peptides in the morning and Vitamin C in the evening, or vice versa.
Well, you could, but they all serve the same purpose. Buffet also has some of the same ingredients/peptides as the others, so there's no point in doing this. 😉
dry or damp is fine, just avoid wet skin. Wet skin: This is skin that has a noticeable layer of water on it. You can see water drops on the skin's surface, and you can feel the water when you touch the skin. Damp skin: This refers to skin that has been patted dry on the surface, but still retains moisture internally. There are no visible water drops on the skin surface. It's akin to a sponge or a piece of clothing that no longer drips water, but remains moist to the touch. Dry skin: Dry skin refers to skin that has been patted dry on the surface, followed by waiting for 5-10 minutes to allow the rest of the moisture to evaporate. This practice involves letting the skin air dry completely before applying any products or continuing with other skincare routines. Doing so can be beneficial, especially when using potent treatments, as it allows them to absorb more slowly into the skin, thereby reducing irritation.
Yes, still a lot of people, according to my comment section on RU-vid, experience issues when used too often. So, my advice would be to use them both once per day. :)

@@mariagill5183 The "glass skin" look you see online is often fictional unless you're willing to slather on tons of products. Not only can this feel uncomfortable, but it might also lead to other skin issues, especially when done continuously and not just for a camera shot with filters and/or makeup. Skin isn't naturally glowing. While you can use an exfoliant plus a hydrating product to achieve some glow, the effect has its limits. Age and genetics play significant roles in skin texture and appearance. Consider adding either an AHA (Glycolic or Lactic Acid) plus a hydrating product or a Retinol to your routine. If you opt for Retinol, start with a gentle one, like the Retinol Cream from Good Molecules.
@@sanaeelyazri7622 No, keep them separate. The Ordinary recommends not using Ascorbic Acid (pure Vitamin C) with their Peptide Serums. So, use your Vitamin C in the AM and Peptides in the PM (or the other way around).
@@aqsahussain1114 so yes, that should not be an issue. But overall, using one at a time may be the better option as both are cell-communicating. I think not really much, as they are likely not penetrating deep enough. You will have a layer on top of the skin which looks very shiny and probably starts to pill off during the day. But exposing the skin to very high amounts can cause sensitivity over time "if absorbed"!

Hello from Greece!!! Congrats, amazing work,I just joined!!! May I ask,can we apply eye cream after the routine?Either in the morning or at night. Thank you!!!!
Technically, yes, you could use it if you feel the need for extra hydration. However, I would avoid retinol eye creams as they potentially may irritate the skin. But if it's solely for extra hydration and some antioxidant benefits, then it could definitely be a good option. And welcome 🙃
I guess since the acids are last ingredients in the list, it should be fine… so if I do the two serums first then moisturizer and then follow up with the sunscreen will it be okay?
You could use them together; in that case, use the Caffeine Solution after Argireline; however, I would use the Caffeine Solution in the AM and Argireline Solution in the PM - or the other way around :)
It depends on the peptides and vitamin c formulation you used. So if you use a Vitamin C derivative, it is no issue, (higher pH 5-6) but if you use an Ascorbic Acid serum, the low pH (2-3) will break them down; therefore, they do not work anymore.
