Very well explained, thanks, I'm new to hunting and I'm trying to learn as much possible before I go out and try it this fall. This was very helpful, thanks!
Stacks of thanks for the post, just got one of these calls for Christmas, massively appreciate the explanation and clarity, I now feel less dumber. 👍 Subscribed!
Great video. I've hunted all my life but never squirrel. I'm 49 and buddy at work got me into air rifles and now squirrel hunting for the first time. Your video will help me with my Primo squirrel calling.
Thanks! The work really well! I have called many squirrels in with them. But even if the squirrels do not come to it they will respond or come out of hiding to see what is happening. But over all it works great!
I used this call today when I was out, have had good luck with it, called in some squirrels. Today the distress part brought in a Broad-Wing hawk to about ten feet away and it landed in a tree, pretty confused look on it.
What's the price roughly? Although I prefer to still hunt, I've had a Haydels 3-in-1 for years and I use it every now and then, with very little success. It could be the way I use it, but after watching this video I'm convinced the sound is just off. It's way more high pitched than this call. Mine ran around $15 when I got it, but I'm definitely gonna check into this Primos call. It appears to be a quality product.
TheBunkis I prefer to still hunt for squirrels too, but every once in awhile I like to stalk hunt em! But the Primos calls in general have very good sound quality for a low price! I bought this call for 14 dollars on amazon but they can range from 17 to 13 depending on the site.
Wow that's not a bad price at all. I was expecting a rather high cost because of the quality and the brand name. Thanks for the info. I'm gonna see if I can find one somewhere. Like I said, I think the sound of my Haydels call is too high pitched. The chatter is too "squeaky" and the regular bark sounds more like a turkey cluck than a squirrel bark, if that makes sense. Anyway thanks again. Best of luck to ya!
