I have an older rode with a jack connector and a 9v battery I connect directly to my desktop mic jack plug in I couldn't get any rode apps to recognize it is there any suggestions on a good app to use I've been using obs but I still get a little static in the background
Great video - thanks. When more than one mic is connected, what is the method to hear others via headphones? As I understand it, each mic only monitors itself and not others. So, how do I hear mic 2, mic 3 and mic 4?
Thanks for the nice video .I am facing an issue now .every time I connect the mic2 and then record my voice and while storing the audio file in mp3 the rode software is getting crashed and also when I open the rode connect it says quit and update and the moment I do the rode software gets closed where as latest software is there I believe there is some isuewith the latest firmware ..mine is M1 Sonama MA OS..Any help will be appreciated...Also one more issue my when I am trying to play the audio file which is in WAV format then every time I have to go the setting s then audio section the explicit elect the computer microphone then it work ..else it stays by default tin the virtual part of rode connect
This is not the screen that comes up for me when I downloaded RodeConnect. A Channel Assignment screen showed up and I added my VideoMic Go II microphone and dragged it up next to "system" but it has a headphone icon above it. Why is that showing up? I don't even have headphones connected to the microphone. I wasn't aware I need to have headphones attached to the microphone. I planned on listening back through my computer. I can't hear my test recording through my computer. So then, I found an old set of Soul headphones and plugged in through the TRS output. I don't know what I am doing wrong and I'm completely frustrated.

Hi Ken awesome content. I was following your content. I use the Rode Connect but cannot see the mic streaming the background sound. I have a USB-C to the laptop and headphone jack to the mic 3.5mm. I can record myself but cannot record the background or slow music. Any ideas? thx
Thank you for the video. I just bought the rode mini usb microphone. I hooked it up to my HP computer and downloaded the connect software. It had me add the mic and then the system and virtual channels. When I hit next it doesn’t show the sound bar moving when I talk at all. I assume I have a setting wrong but I have messed with it for a while and just can’t get it to work. Any tips are appreciated.
Great video. I'm thinking to use this primarily for MS Teams and Zoom meetings. Is the Rode Connect Software set it and forget it? I mean, let's say I choose a mic level and if I want Big Bottom and Exciter on or off. If I shut my computer down and restart it, does the Rode Connect Software automatically open (maybe in the tray or minimized) at startup retaining these settings such that I can just open my webmeeting software and go?
1:28 I can't see my built in microphone detect. So, I can't record my voice. How can I use my built in microphone or I have to use external microphone?
The option to add my microphone never appears. I have it plugged into the USB, the blue light is on, I successfully added the system and virtual components in the installer, but there was no option to add the microphone and every tutorial I can find says that that should come up almost immediately after you start the launcher.
News help! We just bough the NT mini x2 and we can hear ourselves through our phones connected directly to the microphone, but rode connect doesn’t pick up our sound at all. How do we fix this?
Thanks Ken. - Ive a cable question, can I connect the RodeMic II to my MacBook using any long USB C to C cable ? The official Rode cable looks very short for a boom arm.
@Ken or anyone - have you noticed that Rode Connect automatically turns off pad or adjusts the level of your mic while you're using it? I've been using my Rode NTG Videomic for Zoom calls and quick Loom recordings, but even if I set it at for example Pad=on Level 20, it will automatically turn Pad off and my volume is way too high. Or, if I turn Pad off and put the Level at 10 for example, it'll crank the Level way up to 18 or 20 again. I'm not sure what's going on! How do I disable it from auto adjusting Rode Connect settings!? Thx all
I just installed the Rode Connect app and what seems simple is a FKN NIGHTMARE: The microphone functions properly in OBS and with Nvidia Broadcast, as soon as I Open Rode Connect, I get only ROBOT SOUNDS Like, all the effects or my voice no matter the setting, it will sound as a robot kind of thing. Im using a Creative X4 audio external card as output with some Senheisser headphones.....I rebooted, reinstalled drivers, nothing seem to work. It is a shame, I just changed from the NT USB normal to the NT USB Plus so I can use this app and other features.
Hi Ken. Thanks for this. I recently bought this mic to pair with my Canon R6. I am however battling to get the hiss / white noise out of the audio. Any idea how I can completely do away with this, as its extremely irritating. Thanks a mil
Hey man! I just got the NT-USB Mini and I have an issue with the Rode Connect. The first time I installed it it was fine for a few days. And then it suddenly won't launch. So I tried to uninstall it. Then re install it. While installing my pc crashed into Blue Screen. then my PC restarts and I re install and it installs fine and worked properly. AND THEN after 2 days it won't launch again then the process starts again to uninstall->reinstall(blue screen)->reset->reinstall->works fine THEN NOW THE CYCLE REPEATS. I DONT GET IT :(( SOMEONE PLS HELP. I can't find anything on google about this
