when i pull up the shape builder tool options i dont see the selection to change it to straight line or freeform??

im using cs6, how can i find the straight line and free form setting in shape builder tool? mine doesnt have that setting. is there any other way?

Sometime i can creat same color shadow, sometime can't. Have any setting for create shadow??
