Nice overview. How do you specify the depth of cut?

Hellpo and thanks for the question. You can set both the "Start Depth" and a "Flat Depth" to help control the max depth of cut... just like in VCarving.

Really like the sketch carve addition. For some reason I am unable to create a job sheet when using Sketch Carve.

Nice!! So now we can 3D carve with a big ball nose to get the shape and then sketch carve following the contour with a V bit?! Have to try that!

i like this idea, i assume the vcarve would need a different start depth, i'm thinking Acrylic standoffs

Hello and thanks for the comment. We have included the ability to project a Sketch Carving on a 3D model. So you are correct... create a very basic 3D model and then use Sketch Carving to add in the details!

How do you remove background noise? Eg maybe random vectors from clouds etc.

Hello David... I would use closed vectors to only Sketch Carve What you want. In the toolpath you can choose to use a boundry vector, so select that vector, or vectors and the nthe bitmap. That should work... :)

How do you bring the rooster in with no background? Every .crv file I save has a background therefore you can’t create a vector background around the image. It goes around the work piece boundary.

Hello and thanks for the question. The rooster was not a bitmap it was a 3D component, a .v3m from Design and Make, so there was no background. What you are describing with regards to the .crv file seems strange. It might be good if you sent one of your files to support@vectric.com with a description of the problem, and they should be able to give you some advice.

Thanks. The file you opened was “Rooster_welcome.crv”. That’s why a I asked about crv files. You didn’t bring in a .V3m file in this demo video.

How do you deselect the inside of forever?

Hello and thanks for the question. So when I did the offset I made sure to choose the "Select New" option from the form and then hold my shift key down while I selected the parts of the offset I want to keep. This will "deselect" them, leaving only the unwanted parts selected, so I can delete them. Hope that helps.

But I don’t really see how this is really any different from from a bitmap trace then a simple vcarve? Even with 3d objects if I’m looking for a 3d object to be a 2d object I’ll just find a simple image and basically have the same results

Hello and thanks for the comment. When it comes to "black and white" images you may get similir results, but when it comes to a color bitmap it is a lot different. If you were to use bitmap trace it would be very difficult, expecialy with photos. PLease give it a try and I think you will see what we mean... :)
