Born and raised up here and catch hundreds a year. Shorter is not better, stiffer is better. 8/0 is still a joke, better off going on Amazon and buying 12/0 - 16/0. Plus low tide isn’t very efficient especially at spring creek ;).
I believe I said “short/ thick”. I just meant not a surf caster because the majority of the fish are near shore. I shop local in these towns. They depend on it. I agree a bigger hook is better and now that we’ve burned through our 8.0 I’ll be sizing up. Low tide is bogus. We filled the cooler at high tide and were just chillin. Crowds were much less a few weeks ago. If you see us out there come on over!
