I actually needed this exact video today. Streaming to Mac, and wanted 120hz while my physically connected monitor will only do 60hz. Eventually I managed on my own by googling, but later found this video which would have saved me a lot of time lol. Thanks for making this.

I’m trying to figure out a way for me to stream selective audio ideally the “stream audio” from my wavelink app but having a hard time figuring it out

Hi, every time i restart my PC, the output name of the virtual display changes. Some times its Display 7 or Display 9 or Display 11. Do you know how to fix this?

I only see DISPLAY1 I dunno why. I followed your previous video explaining how to install virtual display driver. I did it correctly but when I open the dxgi-info it only shows 1 display. I even plugged a dummy plug and it wont appear in the dxgi-info, only DISPLAY1. Any ideas? EDIT: nvm, I used the beta version of virtual display driver and it now worked!

Curiously, Ghost of Tsushima refuses to work with the virtual display - it will error out and crash. All other games I've tried run just fine rendering to your virtual display driver. I wonder what Sony is doing causing that crash.

Hi, I'm using a virtual display driver for streaming my PC to my phone. But when I install the driver, lossless scaling stops working. When I hit the scale button, the cursor disappears and the fps is not changing. After removing the driver, it starts working again. Do you have any idea why it's happening? Thanks for the video btw.

i had to download the pre release as wouldnt work with stable but i cant seem to enable HDR, is that normal? Also i can't see the display in game and game won't pop up on VD even if i set to main

What happen if you just when the moonlight client change the settings of the displays and use only the virtual display and crash the moonlight client? You wouldt have the image in any of your real displays and if you restart the image would be still change it in the virtual display, right? 😂

Hey Mike! I'm trying to black ops 3 splitscreen via moonlight & sunshine with my friend but on my friend's display (android) its very hard to see due to the split screen....is there any way he could just get his part of the game and i would only see my end? Sorry its kinda hard to explain...

Works great with my iPad only if my monitor is off. When I try running it on my iPad with my monitor on, I’m not seeing the game only hearing the game. I only see an empty pc background screen with no desktop icons.

You need to set Sunshine to choose the virtual display, not your main display.

Thats the problem I had, main display for certen games. Can you script this? To auto enable main display when launch X steam big picture or something else? The games i wanted to play, almost all switched to the main display instead of virtual display.

Hi Mike, im using sunshine with your virtual driver on a Windows 11 machine. But on client side I notice a much worse latency using linux (KDE). On windows on same client machine with same network configuration (local network) I do not notice that latency issues. What could be the reason?

Amazing! Thanks for putting this all together. I have this running reasonably well from my PC connecting to my Samsung OLED. I have the virtual display running at 4k HDR enabled (3840x 2160) but for whatever reason on the TV it has black bars at the sides. Is there an option to fill screen. Or should I be setting this up at 4096x2160?

If you’re using the beta, I misspelled one of the resolutions. 3480 instead of 3840. You can edit the xml and restart and it should fix.

You have two options to move windows around between displays that I am aware of: 1. Recommended method: Hold the WIN key + Tap an arrow left or right to move the window. The first tap will move it to populate half the screen in the direction you clicked, another click will move the window to the next screen. You must have the window you are trying to move in focus. You can use Alt+Tab to select it, even if you don't see it, and start tapping Win+right/left until you see your window. 2. Another old method is Alt+Space -> M key -> now hold left or right. This only works for none maximized windows, and takes a long time, try it on a window you CAN see to learn how this works.

@Alphain i actually understand what you are asking. You can try and run the game in windowed mode, with a custom reaolution of double the original width so that once side is on the real screen, and the other on virtual, than stream the virtual one. I guess for this to work you need the game to allow custom resolution and windowed mode.@@Alphain
