I work for a digital growth company that is just beginning to expand our offerings to include TikTok. I am a video editor but I don't use TikTok. This video was extremely helpful for me; I think I will be able to use a lot of your tips to create engaging ads for our clients. Thanks!
Yes! Definitely would love to watch a video on an in depth long tutorial on how to use tiktok for business and make money with products and affiliate marketing as well.
Hi! You can add a TikTok channel to your Shopify account if you are in a country where it's available but it is fully supported by TikTok themselves. I'd recommend taking a look at our blog post on how to market through TikTok for further guidance : bit.ly/3Kw6uRZ
Just came across this video. This is probably one of the best explanation videos I've seen in a long time (not just for TikTok). Thank you so much for your effort to put this together. Great work! :)
I'm an author and screenwriter. I've been trying to get my products noticed on the internet, but nothing has come close to telling me how to do until I watched your video. I'm not on Tik-Tok or Shopify yet, but I'm going to follow your suggestions and maybe soon, I'll have my books or movie, or TV show noticed. :)
That's awesome! I would definitely suggest using TikTok and RU-vid if you're an author or writer. You can even jump into forums such as Reddit and share your idea with others and they can let you know how they've been successful. Definitely keep learning and utilize TikTok! -Rio
This video is one of the best I saw. I loved the way you broke it down to short sections and explined each very clearly! My business is a motorcycle tour/rental so it is difficult for me to find a problem/solution story. Also, even if I reach a lot of people who are not riding, what's the point? They'll never buy a tour or rent a bike. Above all, I'm iin Israel which is not a known motorcycling destination.. What do you think?
Your 'problem' is tourists walking or taking buses. Your 'solution' is freedom to travel at own pace and saving time. You need to step outside your own box. You can do this!
Good Job of breaking your video down into chapters. You may want to explain that upfront for people who don't know it's available or what to click to see the chapters. I almost left before I discovered it and I am sure many others could too. Just a bit of FREE advice that most people would pass on taking. Keep up the good work.

Hello, I have six questions about TikTok marketing. I appreciate any help before I launch my business: 1. If you repurpose a TikTok video with their music (suggested or viral) for an Instagram reel, will Instagram maybe shadow ban you if the music is owned by TikTok? 2. If you reply back to many comments from a TikTok post, will TikTok consider that as a red flag and possibly shadow ban you or will it help the algorithm by increasing engagement? 3. Do you use a certain number of niche hashtags and/or trending hashtags as a preferable method to increase exposure/engagement? 4. When marketing to a specific area, would you change your location on your TikTok account? I have my trademarks in various countries but I plan to start in the US (even though I'm from Canada) since that is where TikTok seems most popular. 5. One of my businesses involves selling large canvas prints where landscape views would prevent images from being cut off. Is it ok to use horizontal views on TikTok or would you only suggest vertical views, in which case I'd have to do purchase orders to show viewers the product. 6. How important are TikTok analytics, and should you post only on the days/hours that are most viewed?
Hey there, great questions! There are many reasons you can be shadow banned on Instagram, however there is no clear guideline on what will cause you to be shadow banned by the algorithm. With that said, if Instagram removes a video you posted because of copyright music you will not be shadow banned, especially if your account doesn't have any reports against it (in my own experience). Replying back to comments on Instagram or TikTok will not cause you to be shadow banned, however you can be restricted for a period of time if you are replying to comments too quickly. When it comes to using hashtags, I recommend using 5 - 6 hashtags with the first 2 being directly related to your niche, the others can be more general hashtags that are used for engagement. You don't need to change your own location to market to other areas around the world, that shouldn't be an issue when marketing your products. You can use horizontal view when posting on TikTok, but I wouldn't suggest doing this if you are paying to marketing your post. People tend to not watch horizontal videos unless it really is engaging and captures peoples attention. With TikTok analytics, it's just as important as any other analytics when running a promotion for a product. It will give you a head start on knowing the scrolling habits of the people who are interested in your videos or products. I would make sure to note the information given and use it to your advantage. I hope this helped with understanding TikTok and Instagram a little better, if you have more questions please feel free to ask. -Kitana
I’m jumping into Tiktok because I’ve been real hesitant of using it because the audience is so young. But would definitely love to see a more detailed video on how to find trending sounds like the same song I used on my IG reels
Hi! I can understand that would be frustrating for you! Navigating and promoting the market of sex related products can be tricky, however, there are some other ways to promote your business. Influencer marketing and Email/SMS marketing may be an easier option for you. We actually have a helpful blog here which walks you through how to promote your products online: bit.ly/33i5DEf. I hope this helps!
How do I contact you privately to ask some questions regarding my type of business and advice on marketing? Loved this video very informative thankyou.
Important to know how to market on social media in a way that keeps you and your family safe. Or just be very effective at avoiding social media altogether the way it was done in the old days. Which worked just fine. One photograph of even just a head shot can mean your life. I've now had two REALLY scary men either physically come into my business in a very terrifying/inappropriate way or text me very creepy texts that just sent white hot fear through me. I'm furiously resentful of being forced into letting the world know we all exist in order for your business to be taken seriously.
I had a scary person on Facebook when I tried to sell through there Market place, telling me I should give her money, I should have contacted Facebook and reported it but I never did, “But I’ve not tried to sell on there since, “I didn’t of course give her any money, She pretended to be interested in my item, “But then asked me to send her money for the postage of the item, “I Thought WTHFk is she doing, She tried to dupe me into giving email details, “Luckly I managed to Block her and Get her out the messenger that Becomes Automatic when talking To People On There, So I’m Very Weary of People Since, So Yes Have To Be Careful ❤
Great thing about TikTok is its hard for everyone, can't just hire a photographer to take some awesome photos have that be your content. You have to identify trends, effects, sounds, and then create something quickly before the trend ends which is about a week.
How do you get access to all of these songs? I manage my company's tik tok account, as a business profile so we can have our website linked in the bio, but we cannot use many popular sounds bc they are not licensed for commercial use.
Switch to a personal account. I had this same issue with my business account b it switched and now my following is increasing 50 followers a day and more views.
Great question! In order to use the trending sounds with a business account on TikTok you have to purchase the license, which can get expensive. I personally would create 2 TikTok accounts, use one as a creators account and one as a business account. Use the business account as your official brands account, and use the creator account to send traffic to the business account. Trending sounds are vital in virality, and you want as many people to see your products or video as possible. The great thing is TikTok makes switching between accounts very easy. Hope that helps, and let me know if you have more questions.
I LOVE your videos and this one is great for beginners! I tried to do some of the tricks you showed in the video, but while updating my business account, Tik Tok limited my music selection. I have a following in the "rap world" and need access to all of the music. Is there a work around?
Using a viral or suggested song can definitely work in your favour to help increase the chances of your video in going viral on TikTok. These songs are often listed in recommended and trending categories, so it can create a lot of exposure for TikTok accounts that opt to use them. A hot tip to keep in mind when using trending songs: make sure that the songs will still resonate with your target audience and matches the tone of your brand! 🙌
This is a whole different topic I know. But Michelle looks so prettyyy but anyways thank you for sharing with us the tips. I don’t think any other business owners would do that👀 but thank you🙂❤️
My question….on the topic of music. The top music for my business account only allows for generic music. None of the viral music. Is that going to make a difference?
i want to switch from creator to business account on tiktok, but will my past videos that use non commercial music be a violation? Can I just make them private and it will stop them from getting violations?
Thank you for the great tips ! I’m nervous and a little seasoned so not fond of videoing myself? Any suggestions can you make a video with content and add you voice and the music like you spoke of with the volume option ?
Hi there. For more information on using TikTok for your business I'd recommend this free tutorial: bit.ly/3JJB2yT. We also have a great blog post on TikTok marketing here: bit.ly/3JyML3S.
Hi Deep, great question. When it comes to TikTok the most important time in a video is the first 5 -10 seconds, this is when you want to have your audience engaged and interested in what your video is about. The ideal time for a TikTok video is 21 - 30 seconds, but if your video is interesting enough the time won't matter as much and people will want to know how the video ends. Let me know if you have more questions about TikTok marketing.
This is great. I'd like some advice. I have a small manufacturing business and we have about 5 different brands. Would you suggest I have a tiktok profile for the company featuring all 5 brands or 5 tiktok profiles ie one for each?
Hey Anesh, thanks for watching! Would your small manufacturing businesses fall under one branding, by any chance? If so, I would recommend making one TikTok account that features all 5 to make it easier to manage. Looking forward to your response.
Hi. They are 4 different skin care brands and 1 hair care. If I do just one account it will feature the company name. If I do an account for each brand it may be more targeted but too much work perhaps.
Thanks your your quick response! In this case, I would suggest using multiple TikTok accounts. At the moment, you can only have one Shopify store connected to a single TikTok account. If it would be possible to have your brands and products under one single Shopify store then I would suggest using one TikTok account.
If you're a business, you're supposed to use a business account and then many of the viral sounds are not available to you. How do you overcome this handicap?
