I have 2 questions. I had a failed connection issue to ECU during key registration of 2004 Lexus GX470. 1. After connect your computer to the car and entering car information, to ensure good connection, should Techstream always give you VIN#? I did not do last time when I programmed a Lexus, or maybe I pressed next too fast. 2. How can I do a quick test to ensure that it connects to ECU ok before registering a new key? I guess I can always check other utility and pull data to see if it connects ok and won't fail during key registration? 3. How can I program new keys or all lost keys if someone swapped out ECU or ignition, and car is not starting? Any steps would help.
Just be sure you have picked the right brand/model at the loading screen and THEN press next. That's a mistake most people do with the procedure. Also, always have a laptop plugged into a power source. You don't want to mess with your car when TechStream tool is active. :)
I programmed a smart key on 2010 Lexus RX450 and everything was good except the new key cannot open the truck like the original is. Sometimes this happened on other cars as well but most of the time it worked. Any thoughts?
Any chance, you can do a tutorial on changing fuel capacity. I have got a Toyota Hilux 2021, and had to upgrade the fuel capacity for the remote work i do. I would love to get the ecu to see my capacity as 150L (39Gal) compared to 74L (14.5Gal). Any help is appreciated as i have been struggling with this for quite some time now.
i bought a prius with original fob(locksmith toll me the fob is working) , when i try to turn on, the display show me no key detected. There's a way to use teachstrem to reprogram the fob, maybe the former owner change the ECU
Can the Techstream be used to reset and register the ecu-ecm relationship after replacing a broken ecm unit on a 2006 Toyota 4runner? I had to replace the ecm after it was fried by a bad O2 sensor and after I did the diagnostics in the Toyota repair manuals.
My Prius dash looks like a Christmas tree with so many icons. Will this give a good diagnostic of the problems associated with them? Thanks for any assistance.
Can Techstream be used while the engine is off?(Not Acc or IG) Our Toyota 86 has no power at all; when the brake is depressed, the push/start button is not lighting up. Gauges are dead too. The brake lights work though. Car has been flooded, but is now cleaned. Any ideas on how to go about this? Thank you!

+Toyota Maintenance I have bought the MINI VCI cable and the mini CD software, off amazon. Currently i can't access my toyota. I have tried various laptops and OS, inc 32 and 64 bit windows. The cable lights up just fine, but the message 'can't connect to VIM' shows. What am i doing wrong? Do i need to buy the software directly from toyota themselves?
Yes and it will cost a fortune as its subscription based. The ones you get off ebay or amazon are bootleg pirated copies. you get what you paid for when junk don't work.
with the programmer ,TIS Techstream, can you reactivate just the key fob remote starter if it was deactivated at the end of the free trial? (2018 Lexus nx200)

Hello All. Does anyone happened to know how to program a USED SMARTKEY FOB. I am trying to program a key that belongs to another Lexus that match my 09 es350's key fob. Programming a BRAND NEW key would be simple but I only have a USED one that might required a different procedure. Please help. Thanks.
+tnt 5 minutes ? last time I checked it takes 16 minutes to reset immo.. if you virgined the key then you didn't program a used key you programmed a remanufactured key ..
